Another chapter for the day... Am I not a darling?? Lol.. Those people already planning to beat me oluwatimileyin11 and tentimileyin this is for you. Omoope1999, thanks for always commenting. I love y'all.
Juliana came and we talked, after a while, her wedding planner arrived and we discussed about the wedding, the rehearsal date, she also made it known that the dresses are all ready and the bridal train should go to the Tailor to test their clothes in case of amendment including Juliana because her wedding dress is ready too. She showed us a picture and it was lit.
We fixed a venue for the bridal shower and some other arrangements. Then the wedding planner left.
Juliana and I started to arrange the asoebi materials that the woman had supplied because some people ordered for it late.
The parlour door opened and Jasmine rushed in, followed by Jason but their dad didn't come inside.
"Mommy! Cotton candy." Jasmine shouted. She was holding a pack of cotton candy on her hands, Same with Jason. Their dad must have spoilt them silly.
"Jason where's your daddy?" I asked him.
"He said he had something to do, that he'll come home later." Meanwhile Jasmine had gone to greet her aunt in where she was seated and was filling her with stories that happened at the park even if Juliana could not decipher all the words, she just smiled and contributed whatever she could.
"Who brought you home then?" I asked with anxiety.
"Daddy of course, he brought us home, to the door step and left." Was Jason's reply.
I stood up and rushed outside but no sign of his car.
Damien has played me.
"Is he still around??" Juliana asked me.
"No." I answered.
"Sis Juliet, just relax. He said he'll talk to you when he comes back right? He hasn't come back yet. He surely will. Then you guys will trash out your issues."
"Okay." I felt a slight headache.
"So your dad got you the cotton candy?" Juliana asked.
"Aunty Kemi" Jason answered smiling.
"Is Kemi not your husband's sister??" Juliana asked me.
"Yes. She's the last child. She and Damien are very close."
"Okay. But I'm just wondering, why didn't she come over to the house?"
"I don't know. Maybe Damien has told her what has been going on and she's looking at me like one witch already."
"Sister Juliet, you're too full of assumptions. That's how you started suspecting your husband and Mercy. You're not even sure. It's probably that he won't be comfortable talking to her at home because you and him are not really in good terms, that's why he called her to meet at the park. Don't always look at the negative side of every situation."
"Juliana, I just can't help it."
"Calm down. This is part of marriage. there has to be issues. If Una nor quarrel settle, e nor go sweet na."
I smiled at her words. She has indeed turned into a big girl. Not just any big girl, a wise and smart one at that.
*********
As usual, Damien didn't come back home that Saturday, in fact, he just came back home this Monday morning and he is currently taking his bath.
I didn't even answer him when he came in, I didn't rush to him or anything. I just continued my work in the kitchen.
I had to lie to my children and some other people in church that my husband had travelled meanwhile I don't even know where he was.
He wants to use this small issue as an avenue to change for the worse. Yes, we're husband and wife and it's normal for us to have issues. But avoiding reconciliation is immature and I've had enough.
"What are you doing today?" his voice pierced through my thoughts.
I quickly cleaned the tears gathering in my eyes so it wouldn't fall and he wouldn't know that I was crying.
I didn't answer.
"Hmm?" he asked.
"What did you say?" I asked like I didn't hear him the first time.
"I said what are you doing today?"
"Nothing really, just wanna write some applications and submit."
"Good luck then." he said and turned around.
I wanted to call him back, hold him and told him that he promised that we would talk but I restrained myself from doing so.
"Jason!, Jasmine! Let's go." he called.
I packaged their lunch for them and they all left.
I walked inside the room absent mindedly and sat on the bed.
"Ouch!" I had sat on something. Damien must have kept it there. "What's that?"
I shifted on the bed to see what I had sat on.
"Wow!" a rose glued on a card and an envelope. It read;
Happy Anniversary Love.
Sorry I've been a jerk.
Let's talk. By 7pm
There's an address in the envelope.I quickly opened the envelope and saw a reservation at a hotel.
I even forgot to wish him a happy Anniversary.
Suddenly, all the anger and hatred I've been nursing in my mind vanished.
My sweet bae. I pressed the envelope to my chest and tears started to fall.
Damien was becoming a brat right?
What did you think about the surprise wish?? She even forgot her anniversary.
