IF THERE WAS one thing James Potter wasn't proud of anymore, it was his irresistible charm. It was too irresistible.

It was September Third.

He had been waiting for Jessie that morning in the Common Room. Jessie hadn't been feeling well, so James planned to take her to the Hospital Wing. James sat by the fire, vaguely aware of the sixth year student who sat down to his left. He was also unaware of the fact that she was inching closer and closer by the minutes.

"Hi James," she said in a soft, luring voice.

James turned his head to her, only to have her lips forced on his. James flailed around, trying to get away. Finally he did, tumbling to the ground just in time to see Jessie rushing out of the Common Room.

He jumped to his feet, chasing after her. He stumbled out of the portrait hole, only to find Remus was blocking his path. The boy had his arms crossed over his chest.

"Jessie just ran off crying and the only word of explanation was 'James'." It was rare for the werewolf to look angry. But Godric, he was full of rage. "What. Did. You. Do?" he shouted, hitting James with his book on each word.

"I did nothing! A girl in the common room...I don't even know who she was...she kissed me and Jessie walked past. I have to talk to her—"

Remus held up a hand, silencing the boy in front of him. "She can't handle it right now. I know how she is. It won't help now. Let her calm down. Talk to her before Quidditch tryouts okay?"

James slowly nodded, lowering his eyes to the floor.

Jessie had woken up in James's dorm the next morning feel quite ill. She woke him up, explaining what was wrong. When he touched her forehead, he frowned, saying she did feel a little warm.

So Jessie went to change so James could take her to the Hospital Wing. It would have been a bit inappropriate to show up in your boyfriends shirt and boxers. She changed fairly quick, Lily grinning rather smugly at the girl when she entered in James's clothes.

Changed into her own attire, she slipped back into the Common Room. She saw a head of blonde hair pressing her lips against James's. Her heart sank. Her vision blurred.

For a moment her feet didn't work. Then she was running through the portrait, sobbing. She stumbled into Remus's chest. He caught her with ease and frowned.

"Jess..."

"J-James..." she managed to choke out, hearing the portrait starting to open. She shoved past Remus, making a mad dash for the girls toilettes.
