"Harry James Potter! Stop goofing off with Hedwig and get in the car! Your father won't stay in there much longer if we don't get in soon!" Jessie called up the stairs.
Her eleven year old son came skipping down the stairs with a bird cage in his hand. "Sorry! She wouldn't get in her cage!"
"You should have let Hagrid train her," Jessie smiled, walking him outside.
She paused, outside the car, narrowing her her eyes at his hair. "Did you even brush your hair, Harry?"
"Yeah! Don't try and fix it! I don't need your saliva in my hair! I wanna make friends, mum!" Harry swatted her hand away.
"You'll make plenty of friends! You and Dora get along!"
"Dora's twice my age," Harry frowned. "And my cousin, so we have to get a long!"
"Oh, stop fretting and get in the car," she said, kissing her son's head gently.
Harry smiled, climbing inside next to his younger sister Holly who played happily with her unicorn and centaur stuffed animals.
Holly was six.
Jessie miscarried her second child with James. They didn't try for nearly five years. But then, Holly was born. And she was just as mischievous as her father.
"Ow! Holly!" Harry complained from the backseat.
"Holly stop throwing your toys at your brother!" James sighed as they pulled into King's Cross Station.
"Daddy! Harry started it!" Holly whined as James helped her out of the car. She hurried over to Jessie and Harry and James carried his son's stuff and his wife's (she was getting a job as a Divination Professor) toward the platform.
Jessie watched as a red head bustled past with her family, talking about Platform 9 and 3/4.
And Harry knew he'd be just fine.
