Chapter 47

Amanda's POV

I smiled at Kyle as we locked eyes. I couldn't help myself, as awkward as I felt, I also felt happy in his presence. I looked back down to my phone and leaned into him. Mike still hadn't texted me back, so I messaged Izzy instead.

Amanda -> Gay Lord: hey, hope school isn't too boring with out me. Keep me updated !

I waited a few moments before putting my phone down. She'd be in school right now so there was no point in expecting a fast reply.

Pretty soon everyone finished eating and we began to head off back to Bryan and Johnnie's place. This time I didn't sulk around when we walked as a group. I got involved in all the conversations and I felt a lot better for it. No point in holding what Johnnie did against Kyle. It wasn't intentional, so it's fine...

We made it back in no time and all lazed around on the couch for a while.

"What time did you say Shannon was getting here?" Jordan asked, literally rolling around on the floor. I don't understand that boy one bit.

"She'll be here in the morning, same with Jey," Bryan groaned, his head resting on the floor while his legs dangled over the back of the sofa.

"Right right," Jordan mumbled, still rolling. It was starting to get late and everyone was tired and bored. I ended out calling it a night early and got Johnnie to show me to where I was sleeping. I have no idea how the two boys afford this place, it's got a pretty decent size and plenty of space for everyone to sleep.

Kyle's POV

After Amanda went to bed, Alex and Bryan followed not too long after, leaving Johnnie, Jordan and I alone in the living room.

"So I see Amanda didn't ignore you for long," Johnnie said with a smirk. Suddenly I felt a bit cold towards him. Why on earth would he think that was a good idea?

"Johnnie how could you think that was funny?" I asked, sitting up and staring at him. His playful gaze soon lowered and became serious.

"Her and I were going good again and you nearly ruined that. You have no idea how difficult it's been trying to build that relationship back up to where it is now," I argued. I didn't realise how frustrated I had gotten with him until now. Before I was just too focussed on Amanda to worry about him.

"Look man I'm sorry, it was just meant to be a joke," he said, seemingly hurt by my outburst.

"Kyle has a point bro," Jordan joined in, "I mean, I would know. I was there. With Amanda I mean, after warped tour. I was there with her and Mike and it was pretty evident that even though all was forgiven, it was hard for them to be friends again."

Jordan nodded at me before continuing to just... roll around.

"Look, I'm sorry. It won't happen again. I didn't realise that it would hurt you," Johnnie mumbled. I knew he was just trying to be playful, but sometimes he just doesn't think.

"Just, don't do stuff like that, okay man?" I asked, standing up. He nodded at me and mumbled a small 'okay'. I said goodnight and walked off into the spare room that I stayed in last time I was here. I knew Jordan would be staying with Bryan and Alex with Johnnie, so when I slipped into the room it wasn't a surprise that I found Amanda asleep in the bed. I sighed before grabbing a blanket from the linen cupboard and going back to the room. I pulled my shirt over my head and left it hanging off the back of the sofa that was in the room. I had left my bag out in the living room but I couldn't be bothered to go get it. I just wanted to sleep. I laid down on the couch and pulled the blanket over myself, using the arm rest as a pillow.

If Jordan and Johnnie weren't still in the living room then I would've just slept there, but there was no point in trying that right now. Those two wouldn't be asleep for hours.

I closed my eyes and drifted off into a mostly peaceful sleep.

Amanda's POV

I woke up to the sounds of commotion outside. There was a lot of laughing and loud talking. I sat up and rubbed my eyes to wake myself up. I could see a blanket was messily hanging off the couch on the other side of the room. I sighed as I realised that it was probably Kyle who had to sleep there last night.

I grabbed some clothes and walked across the hall to the bathroom. Thankfully, it was empty. I showered and changed before returning my clothes to my suitcase and went to join the others in the living room.

When I walked in, I saw two unfamiliar-familiar faces. Shannon and Jeydon were here. Shannon noticed me first, her eyes lighting up when she saw me.

"Amanda! Hey it's so nice to meet you!" She said happily as she came over and gave me a hug. She was so much smaller than I expected, my chin could almost rest on her head. Almost.

"Hi, it's nice to meet you too," I said politely.

Jeydon's hello was a little different. He walked over and shook my hand with a 'hey I'm Jey', a smile and then walked off.

In all the commotion of everyone greeting the two with excitement, I managed to slip away and back into the spare bedroom. I grabbed my phone off charge and looked threw my messages. A few twitter notifications and a text back from Izzy. Turns out I really wasn't missing out on much at all, school still sucked.

I tucked my phone into the back pocket of my jeans and walked out of the room. As I went to walk down the hall, I almost collided with a completely different Hall. A Kyle Hall, that is.

We both laughed before I apologised. Just as I was about to go around him, he stopped me.

"Hey, do you think we could talk?" He asked. My heart restricted slightly with anxiety. I hate that sentence.

"Oh, right. Yea sure, of course," I babbled a little bit. "Now or later?"

"Well I'm just putting my suitcase in the room, so we can talk now if that's okay with you?" He asked. I held my breath, trying to mentally calculate the likelihood of an anxiety attack solely based off that one sentence. I sighed and nodded anyway, against the churning feeling in my stomach. It's probably nothing at all. I'm just overreacting. That sentence doesn't always mean bad things...

I hastily followed Kyle into the room and he closed the door behind us. Oh boy. I went and sat on the bed and waited. For what, I wasn't sure yet.

Ermagerd it's been two years since the last proper update of this, how exciting!

Getting back into the habit of writing was surprisingly easy and I hope to finish this book and work on some other stories more afterwards 😊😊

I hope you all enjoyed this chapter, I know I enjoyed writing it. It took me less than 24 hrs to re read the entire 46 posted chapters and then write this one and I am so proud of myself! I also may have pulled an all-nighter last night to pull it off. So worth it tho! Anyways...
