Amanda's POV
Sneaking back into the house was just as easy as I had thought. No one was awake and I just had to go up to my room and sneak under the covers and everything will be fine... Until tomorrow. Did I even think about the consequences tomorrow? Nope. Well shit.
I dressed into my pyjamas and crawled under the covers before grabbing my phone and going on Twitter. Maybe I should message Izzy now? Eh, I'll do it in the morning.
.
.
.I texted Izzy while I was riding my skateboard to school. Nearly dropped my phone once or twice, but either way, this morning was pretty alright. My grandparents stayed in their room for the morning, meaning I could wear what I wanted without being sent back to change a hundred times, so, of course I wore hundreds of band bracelets, a band tee and ripped jeans, I mean, given the freedom, of course I was going to! In fact, if they're ignoring me now, then when I get home I'm going to make a video for YouTube. Maybe even ten if I'm not too tired! Okay, ten different videos might be a bit much, but you get the point.
Classes seemed to go by so quickly and before I knew it, I was aloud to go home and me and Izzy had sent over 1000 text messages to each other. Turns out, we go to the same school, just she's in the year below me so we don't have classes near each other. We agreed to meet at the front gate and walk home together.
We decided to take this time to get to know each other better.
"Okay, favourite band?"
"Pink Floyd. Favourite hobby?"
"Making videos. Greatest actor of all time?"
"Johnnie Depp. What kind of videos?"
"I have a YouTube channel. What's your favourite movie with Johnnie Depp in it?"
"Either Sweeny Todd or Sleepy Hollow. Favourite movie?"
And so on. We ended out getting to know each other pretty well. Eventually, I got to hell and we had to say goodbye. Once again, when I went inside, no one was around. I could hear the television in my grandparents room playing, so I knew that they were home. Still ignoring me. Maybe they're waiting for an apology. If they are, then they'll be waiting for a long time.
I went into my room to change into something a lot more suitable for going out. Kyle and I decided to catch up over a Starbucks coffee. It's not like there's anything wrong with what I'm wearing, it's just I have been wearing it all day and I'd rather be wearing something clean.
After pulling on some skinny jeans, a batman tee and a dark purple beanie, I decided I looked fine and grabbed my bag and headed to our meeting place.
Kyle's POV
I adjusted my beanie slightly as I waited for Amanda out the front of Starbucks. I have been fidgeting with everything while waiting for her. Is it bad that I'm nervous?
I'm still not too sure how I feel about her now. I'd love to be friends again, but at the same time, I wish that we were never douchebags to each other so that we might actually be dating. Maybe I should just start at being her friend. Yea, that's probably best.
After a few more minutes of waiting and I could see her walking down the street, smiling stupidly at her phone as she typed away on it. She put her phone away and looked up to see me smiling at her. She waved and began walking a bit faster.
"Hey hey." She seemed to be in a much better mood then she was when we last saw each other.
"Well you seem very happy." I pointed out.
"My grandparents have been ignoring me ever since I snuck out for the night." She smiled at me as we walked inside.
"That's a good thing because they were so strict before?" I asked, trying to remember what she told me about them.
"Yes! It's awesome! Look, I can wear my beanie, skinny jeans, Batman shirts!" She excitedly pointed out everything that she was wearing.
"That's awesome."
Thankfully there wasn't a line so we could just walk straight up to the counter to order our drinks and head out.
Amanda's POV
I was so happy today. I used to think that I could only feel like this on warped tour with fans or just reading happy comments on my videos. Turns out the happiest feeling in the world is freedom. Sweet, beautiful release from my grandparents!
Kyle and I started walking down the street with our coffees and began talking. We talked about pretty much anything we could think of. How we went after warped tour, family, YouTube, school, Johnnie. Johnnie was probably my favourite topic to talk about, since we both had a lot to say about him. He's texted me almost every day asking me when I'm going to come visit him now that I'm no longer 'trapped in Australia' as he put it.
And then Kyle brought up a topic that I didn't want to talk about, my lonely love life.
"So, had any dates lately?" He asked somewhat kindly.
"Um, not really. I have a very crappy love life. The only boys that approach me wanna- never mind, no one likes me. What about you? Got any lady friends?" I nearly said 'the only boys that approach me wanna shove my head in the toilets or insult my every move' but he didn't need to know that.
"Nope. No one that lives around here can take relationships seriously, but I guess that's pretty rich coming from me, eh?" Damn him, I don't wanna think about our little warped tour fling thing whatever it was.
"I dunno." I took a large sip of my coffee to try and avoid further questions. And now I have to avoid letting him see that I'm in pain from my throat burning. Goddammit. I just hope he doesn't push the subject any further.
Hey guys, I know it's a pretty shitty chapter, but a lot of you were asking for another update and since I have been coming back to write every now and then, I figured I might as well. This doesn't mean I'm taking it off hold, this is just because I've been feeling slightly better recently.
Until the next time I update (which might not be for a while)
Peacekies ✌🏻️
