"Do you want me to call you out of school for a few days? They'll understand," Danny asks.
"Please, I don't want to deal with all the stupid apologies," you say.
You played with Hope for a bit. She warmed up to you, giving you kisses and cuddling with you. Even though you had tear stains on your cheeks, you took a photo with Hope. Her head covered up the bottom half of your face. You posted it to Instagram, attached to a family photo, and wrote a long paragraph about your parents. Going off airplane mode made a million texts come through. You quickly turned it back on and went into your parents room. In their closet, there was a bunch of dog toys and treats, along with a big bed. To Hope, the bed was huge, but by next you it would be her size.
There was a knock on the door, and Hope started knocking. You opened it to see Allison and her family. She gave you a big hug and wiped the tear stains from your face.
