"Y/N, " Natasha's voice pulled you out of your thoughts. "Dinner's ready. " She leaned against your the frame of the door.

You couldn't pull your eyes off of the moon. It was a full moon tonight, and you shared in wonder at it.

"You eating tonight, hun? " she said, worry clear in her tone.

You hummed a no in response. She sighed, and you could hear her feet shuffle over to you, where you sat at the balcony.

She proceeded to lean against the long bench, and then slowly sat herself on the arm.

"You know he's not on the moon right? " she chuckled, trying to lighten the mood.

Ever since Peter flew off to space, you've been a mess. It was like a breakup- it was basically a breakup. You never knew when or if you would see him - ever - again.

"I know, " you smiled, your eyes still on the moon. "I just like to imagine that... Maybe he's somewhere next to it. You know? And that we're both staring at the same thing. "

Natasha bit her lip, she felt heartbroken to see you so torn.

"I mean," you sighed. You finally looked away from the big, round orb. "I know thats not logic, considering that the planets he'll go to probably have their own moons. But I can't help it, I miss him so much. I don't care if it's logic or not. "

Only then you realized Natasha hsd eased herself next to you, and you leaned your head on her shoulder as she wrapped an arm around yours.

"I know, sweetie. It's fine. It's normal to miss people. "

You gave her a small chuckle, thankful you had a friend in a moment like this.

"By the way, I think you really do need to eat. Let's go. "

She helped you up, and you let her. There's no use in looking at the moon now, as the clouds have covered it. The beam was still bright, though. And in a way, that comforted you.

----

"Hey guys." you smiled, stepping out of the elevator to see the table all set up. You took your usual spot, and Natasha took hers. To your left was Thor and to your right was Tony.

Your team greeted you warmly,  glad to have you back on the dinner table. It had been so long - it felt like it - since you've had a conversation with them. You missed them, and they missed you just as much.

"Y/N, good to see you again! " Thor boomed, in his hand, some type of beverage in a mug. You noticed it as his Asgardian Mead.

"Good to see you, too! " you beamed. "By the way, I thought you were all out of Mead?" You knew because you were looking for it the other day.

He grinned, "A friend stopped by Asgard and brought it back for me. "

You smiled, "Really? Who? "

Unbeknownst to you, everyone had their eye on you just as you had your eye on the moon a few minutes ago.

"Was it Lady Sif? When did she..." You trailed off as you heard footsteps behind you.

"It was me. "

You turned around faster than you could blink. It was a voice you longed to hear for months. You missed the warmth of it, the pronunciation of every syllable, the lightness it carried.

"Hi, Y/N. "

You stared in disbelief as you saw Peter Quill standing right behind you.

"Peter? Is that... Is that really you?"

He furrowed his eyebrows, then looked at his arms dramatically. "Last time I checked, yeah. "

You grinned at the fool - your fool - and jumped from your chair to run into his arms. You crashed your lips onto his, and he kissed back fiercely. The need you had for each other's love was real, and you knew right there you really loved him. And...It felt really good.

"I love you. " you breathed. "I love you, Peter Quill. "

"And I love you, Y/N L/N. "

Suddenly, awkward coughs surfaced from two corners of the room.

On one end were the all-too-familiar Guardians, and the other your Avengers.

"Could you guys...maybe get a room? We'd like to keep our dinners in our stomachs. "
