The horrible headache pounding in Alice's head uncomfortably wakes her up. She blinks her eyes a couple times to adjust to the light shining through her window.

And then she remembers last night.

Her heart starts beating fast and she can feel the nerves in her stomach grow. Fionn. She needs to message Fionn.

Oh my god what have i done!

What if I've lost him!

Her body leans over to her nightstand, reaching for her phone. 9:13 am is the time in Los Angeles, meaning it is 5:13 pm in London.

"His day was probably so shit because of me" Alice whispers to herself.

She turns around to look at Courtney who is fast asleep on her bed before leaving her bedroom and closing the door behind her. She walks over to her open plan living room and sits down on the large sofa.

As she presses dial her heart starts racing even more while playing with her clothes to help calm the nerves.

What if he doesn't answer?

"Alice?" Fionn's voice says through the phone.

Her heart sinks as she hears the pain in Fionn's voice, she did this to him. All because she freaked out over one little thing.

"Hey..." Alice says quietly, not knowing what else to say.

Fionn doesn't reply, leaving an unsettling silence between them two.

"So you're not even a week back home and you already lash out on me? What happened Ali?" Fionn asks.

He didn't raise his voice, but he was still pissed off, pissed off and upset.

"I.. I just freaked out over nothing. You promised me you would message me everyday but you didn't message me at all yesterday, and i don't know i just got mad. And i know you're busy so i shouldn't be getting mad because your life doesn't evolve around me but i don't know.. I'm sorry..." Alice explains with a hurt tone to her voice.

"Why did you get drunk yesterday Alice? You never get drunk like that, i remember you telling me once you don't do shit like that? So why did you?" Fionn asks, still upset.

"Because i don't know, i was hurt Fionn. I wasn't thinking straight" Alice replies, the regret of last night already her.

Fionn sighs and stays silent for a few seconds.

"I'm sorry for not messaging you yesterday. I know i promised you and i should've at least messaged you once, I'm sorry. But right now we need to focus on you, you need to rest a lot today and take a day off work. Make sure you take some hydrodol or tylenol and also drink enough water" Fionn explains, making Alice slightly smile.

Even though she had ruined his day by the conversation last night, he still cares about her and wants to make sure she'll get better.

"I love you Fionn" Alice says quietly.

"I love you too Alice, we'll see each other soon okay? I'll make sure I'll come over to Los Angeles soon" Fionn says with his calm voice.

"I've got to go now love, but i promise you I'll call you before i go to sleep" Fionn adds.

"Okay, I'll talk to you soon, i love you" Alice replies.

"I love you too" Fionn says before disconnecting the call.

She turns off her phone before placing it down on the coffee table in front of her. She feels a little better, but there's still a weird feeling in the pit of her stomach, telling her something isn't right.

She ignores the feeling and watches as Courtney walks into the room.

"Morning drunkhead" Courtney says with a slight smirk on her face.

"Did you just talk to Fionn?" Courtney asks.

Alice nods, "Yeah, we talked things over" she says.

"That's good, listen I've got work soon so let's have some eggs and some tylenol or hydrodol, whatever you have in your cupboard and then I've got to head home to get ready for work" Courtney explains.

"Will you be okay on your own?" Courtney asks.

"Yeah, I'll be fine" Alice replies.

They both make some bacon and eggs while taking some tablets to ease their hangovers. They both have their breakfast before Courtney leaves to go home before heading off to work.

Alice reaches for her phone and dials the number of her work to call in sick.

"Hey its Alice. I'm so sorry for the late notice but i just wanted to call in sick-" Alice explains but gets cut off by the other person.

"Call in sick, yeah we know. Fionn already informed us you rang him telling him weren't feeling well today, we've already found someone who can fill in for you so it's all good. Hope you feel better soon sweetie!! It makes sense getting sick after such a long plane flight so we understand" The girl on the other line explains, making Alice slightly smile.

They both hang up and Alice's mind goes back to Fionn. He's honestly the best boyfriend ever, how could she ever think he isn't?

Just as she was about to take a shower her phone vibrates, meaning she got a notification.

She reaches for her phone to pick it up and sees that the guy she met at the airport, Liam, had messaged her.

Liam: hey heyy, it's liam here. how are you?

Alice: hey liam, I'm pretty good apart from the horrible hangover i have. had to call in sick because of it

Liam: what!? and you're alone!? no no that's not going to happen!! no one should be alone when they have a hangover, let me come over? or we can hang out somewhere else?

Alice thinks for a second, if she should let this boy she only just met and spoke to for a few minutes come to her house. But with the time she spoke to him he really seemed like a nice guy, a good guy.

So Alice decides to let him come over, something she usually wouldn't do.

She texts Liam her address and they both decide he'll come over in an hour, leaving her enough time to get ready and clean up the house.

She makes her way to the bathroom before turning on the hot water from her shower. She takes off her clothes and steps into the shower, letting the warm water rinse over her body.
