Toby's P.O.V
Sleeping in the same bed as another person showed me how much of a difference it makes on your comfort when you're trying to sleep. Sleeping next to her yesterday night made me feel so safe, peaceful, warm... I had no night terrors, no sleep paralyisis when I held her sleeping form in my arms. I turn to my side, bringing my knees to my chest. The bedsheets were cold I noticed and I wished that she could be here with me right now, in my arms as I kissed her forehead. It felt lonely. To try and recreate the feeling, I grab my pillow and hug it, closing my eyes... But it doesn't feel the same. I sigh. Will I even be able to sleep tonight?
I lie awake in bed for another hour, staring up at the ceiling as endless worries run through my mind. 'What if I experience another night terror? What if I get sleep paralysis? What if I hear the voices again?" to try and block out these thoughts, I grab my pillow and wrap it around the back of my head, covering my ears with it while I squeeze my eyes shut. My phone vibrates. Curious as to who could be messaging me in the middle of the night, I let go of the pillow and reach out to my dresser only to smile once I see who's messaging me.
(Y/N): Sorry for messaging you so late at night. I just can't seem to fall asleep.
I open up the message and begin to reply.
Toby: It's fine. I can't seem to sleep either. Why can't you sleep?
(Y/N): I can't stop worrying whether Tim did tell Slender or not. I mean, you'd be hurt pretty badly if he figured out, right? Possibly even killed?
Toby: Yeah. I think I would be punished pretty badly but not killed. Hey, I'll be right back, alright? I need to do something.
(Y/N): ... Okay.
I put down my phone then get out of bed, making my way towards my door and opening it quietly. I tip-toe down the hallway to Masky's room and slowly open the door to see his sleeping figure in the bed. I make my way to his bed. Arriving at the bed, I begin to poke his face, trying to wake him up. "Hey, Masky. Wake up. Masky. Helloooooo? Hey Mask--" before I could finish, his eyes snap open and he sits up in bed, glaring at me. "What the fuck could you possibly want this late at night?" he checks the clock then looks at me again. "It's 3:10 in the goddamn morning for crying out loud..!" he hisses, clenching his fists. "Well... I was wondering whether you kept your part of the deal and kept quiet. (Y/N)'s kinda worried so she can't sleep." "Of course I didn't tell him! Are you an idiot? If I did tell him, you would be dead by now you annoying fuck! Now let me sleep or else I WILL tell him!" taking his warning, I leave the room and shut his door, heading back to my room. "What a meanie.." I mumble, opening my bedroom door and closing it behind me. Picking up at my phone, I lay back down in bed.
Toby: Sorry about that, I was talking to Masky. He said that he didn't tell him thankfully.
(Y/N): That's good. I feel a little more calm now.
Toby: Good. Do you think that now you'll be able to sleep with one less worry on your mind?
(Y/N): Probably. I miss you though. It doesn't feel the same sleeping in an empty bed..
As I read this, a small smile spreads across my lips and I re-read it, making sure I read it right.
Toby: That's how I feel too. I guess sleeping with someone beside you really makes a difference, huh?
(Y/N): Yeah.. If only Slender allowed you guys to date. Then you would be able to sleep over tonight too.
Toby: Yeah. It really sucks. I don't like keeping this relationship a secret.
(Y/N): Me neither.
Toby: ... Hey, now that you know that Masky is not planning on telling anyone, how about you try sleeping now? You need your rest. I can't stand to see you all sleep-deprived next time I visit.
(Y/N): Alright. Thanks, Toby. I love you.
Toby: I love you too. Goodnight, (Y/N).
(Y/N): Goodnight.
Once she heads off to bed, I turn off my phone and place it back on my dresser, turning over to side and deciding to try and sleep as well. I have the exact same dream that I've been having for a week already - or should I say, a nightmare. There's a strange car accident with a blonde-haired girl who seems unconscious. I try to wake up the unfamiliar girl but she doesn't wake up no matter how hard I try. The scene changes. I am now in a empty room with a single mirror on the wall. The same blonde-haired girl pops out of the mirror but she looks different. Blood is pouring down the side of her forehead and blood is gushing from her mouth as she reaches out to me. Terrified, I back up as her dead, unblinking eyes stare at me. "Toby.." she whispers. Her voice is hoarse and she inches closer and closer until she takes hold of me while I scream. I'm dragged into the mirror where I see a man beating his son. The boy looks like... Me.
I wake up screaming as beads of sweat move down the side of my face. I'm scratching at my stomach and chest in horror since I can still feel her arms wrapped around me. My eyes are squeezed shut while I squirm around in my bed, trying my best to escape her grip.
After fighting for a minute, my eyes snap open and the feeling disappears. I sit up in bed, looking around my room to make sure that I was awake. Bringing my knees to my chest, I hug them and start to cry.
