Surgery- Chapter 15

**Alex**

I was pacing the waiting room. Cory and Liam were in surgery and I was scared for the both of them. I felt arms wrap around me and pull me into someone's lap. I looked up at Zayn and he pulled me into his chest. "Everything will be fine. Just relax." He whispered in my ear. I was wearing the scrubs that nurses wear and they were so weird. I looked down at my stitches and then leaned my head against Zayn. I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep.

**Skylar!**

I looked over to see Alex sleeping. I knew I shouldn't have left her alone to get coffee. Something bad always happens to Alex. I sighed and leaned my head against Harry. He smiled down at me and I grabbed his hand. He squeezed it and before I knew it, I was drifting off into a peaceful sleep.

**Alex**

"Alexandria Johnson?" Someone said and I looked up. Niall had awaken me a little bit ago to go get some food.

"That's me." I said and he motioned for me to follow him.

"The transplant was a success. But, Corrine has a strange fever that is getting higher and higher. We don't know if she is going to make it." He said and my knees collapsed. This couldn't be happening. I started crying I looked up as Louis picked me up and held me in his arms.

"What's happening?" He asked and the doctor told him. He started crying and same as everyone else.  The doctor told us we could go say our final words and I was at the end of the line.

I watched as everyone was crying and I tried wiping the tears away. I straightened myself up and tried to be tough. I gout up to Cory and she smiled at me. "Al, I've known you for 15 years, you don't have to be tough." She said and I lost it. I grabbed her hand and she started crying. The nurse came in to take her temperature with a sad look on her face. It beeped and she looked at it and smiled. She wrote something down and turned to us.

"Her temperature is dropping. Quickly might I add." She said and I smiled. I turned toward the nurse and she looked up at me.

"Do you know anything about Liam Payne?" I asked and she nodded.

"He's awake now if you want to go see him." She said and I nodded. She told me his room number and I left to go to him.

I opened the door carefully and peered inside. "A-Alex?" He said and I smiled. I ran over and smiled down at him. "Y-you're okay."

"Yes I am and you got hurt again because of me." I said and he grabbed my hand.

"Do you know what Luke was trying to do to you?"

"No. No one will tell me either." I said and rubbed the back of my neck.

"He tried to rape you but Cory kicked his ass." He said and I smiled. I leaned down and kissed him. He kissed me back and it was a moment of bliss.

"So, who's kidney do I have?" He asked and I smiled.

"Cory's." I said and his eyes widened.

"I thought she hated me. I imagined she would never have done it. She hates me." He said. I shook my head and smiled.

"She agreed right after the doctor said she was a match. She loves you Li." I said and he smiled.

"Now we are even more of twins." He said and I laughed. I kissed him again and pulled a chair right up next to him. We managed to figure out how to get the bar down and we were holding hands again. I rested my head on the bed and drifted slowly into sleep as he sang the song that he sang to me when he came to my school. I fell asleep and was happy. Happy that everyone I loved was finally back together.
