- Dean's point of view –

'At this point there was no sense talking into Jeremy. He might be a total nutcase, but when push comes to shove he does stick to his word. Even if it meant using violence to prove himself, mostly to himself.' I thought as I stared out the window next to me. Jaime has been crying in the backseat ever since the radiobroadcast ended. She, too, knows Jeremy well enough to know what's about to happen. Why did it have to turn out like this? Why did he ever had to come here?

We go back to the day after Jaime left Dean to temporarily move in with Ben and Mary.

"So she left huh? Didn't even take her time to properly wipe her blood of the floor." I said while entering my living room. I took a seat in my usual spot in the sofa across the television. There was still a closed beer can on the table, so I gladly took the opportunity to drink it away. After I took a few sips there was a loud banging on the door. 'And back already.' I thought to myself. As I walked through the hallway the banging intensified. "Coming already, god fucking damn it!" I yelled. I couldn't believe my eyes when I opened the door though. "Is that a proper way to meet ya brother bruv?" the voice behind it snarled sarcastically. Shocked my body moved on its own by slamming the door shut right the man's face. Again a loud banging came from the other side. "Fuck ya Dean, open this god damn door right now!" As I opened it once more, I met his eyes again looking back at me very angrily. "Jeremy, it is you?! I just didn't imagine..." I muttered. "Ya didn't imagine what you little shit? That ya would ever see me again? Must have been really tough aye, leaving me to rot in that sinkhole of a jail. Much so ya couldn't stand it and fled Leeds and everything we build? How about inviting me in first" Jeremy replied as he already made his way past me.

"Got yourselves a nice little shack I see. So bruv tell me, where's she at?" he said while he walked towards the living room. "By 'she' you mean...?" I asked with an oblivious look on my face. "Jaime of course. My birdie. Come on bruv, ya taking me for a fool? Sean told me the two of ya left the police station together." Jeremy said with a confident look in his eyes. "Wait Sean did? How about you start explaining what happened with you first? How is it you're out already? Thought you were charged with assault?" I asked in return trying to evade his own question. "Well, the great Jeremy Brodes always pulls it off doesn't he?" Jeremy answered in a narcissistic manner. "For reasons, the guy I supposedly assaulted dropped the charges, thus clearing me from any. Got six months for possession of narcotics, but what's six months on a lifetime aye? So when I got out I went back to the safe house, only to find out ya and miss sunshine left for the Big Smoke. Sean had stayed around to take care of business for me in the meantime. He's running the whole damn operation as we speak." "Operation? You mean it's all still running? I thought the whole thing would go down with you behind bars. How about a beer while you go on?" I asked. Talking about himself is one of Jeremy's favourite hobbies after all. 'I just have to keep him busy long enough for him to forget about J. for now.' I thought to myself. "Ya really think I would forget about making quids while being in? I'm running a goddamn enterprise in Leeds. I can't let my customers down and give up my good name like that, now can I bruv?" Jeremy said with a grin. "So I've asked Sean to take care of business a little while longer so I could chase after the two of ya and bring ya back to where ya belong. With us. And since we're back on the subject, where is Jaime?" I couldn't delay answering him any longer, so I just had to come clean.

"To be honest Jeremy, I have no fucking idea where she is. We had a break-up last night and..." "What do ya mean a break-up bruv?" Jeremy interrupted. "Don't tell me the two of ya having been shagging up in the meantime? Did ya?" "It's not like that. It was more a moment of passion. It..." "A moment of passion? So now you're William Shakespear himself? Ah well, ya weren't her first and definitely won't be her last, that's a guarantee." Jeremy replied. "Don't worry little bruv, I'll find our prized birdie and life will all go back to normal." 'That's exactly what I'm afraid of' I thought to myself as I stood up to grab some more beers.
