- Ricky's point of view -

Today was going to be the day Jaime was moving to London. I was looking forward to seeing her again and wondered how she'd been doing. Her story had made a massive impact on me and I hadn't stopped thinking about it. As I waited in front of her new flat for her to arrive, I looked at my phone. Jaime had texted me about half an hour ago that she'd landed and would be there soon. I sat down on the pavement slightly annoyed at myself that I probably left my own house way too early. Knowing London traffic, she wouldn't arrive for at least another thirty minutes.

For some reason my mind wandered back to the moment when we had dinner in her flat. 'A friendly hug' is what she called it. Why was I overthinking this? It wasn't that she was wrong about it, but I can't deny my heart dropped a little when she had said those words. I must admit I felt a strange sense of relief, having her so close to me. Although I know Jaime is a strong woman, I couldn't help but worry. As I was just about to text her, a cab pulled up on the side of the street. I watched her step out of the car. She had put her half long brown hair into a bun and wore an oversized jumper. Her bright blue eyes met mine as she swung her guitar case on her back. "Hi! Hope I haven't kept you waiting?" she questioned apologetically. "No, it's fine" I assured her. "Can I take anything from you?" She nodded her head towards the boot and I grabbed her suitcases. She paid the cab driver and searched for the keys that had been sent to her a couple days ago.

Once inside the apartment she had a look around. I put her suitcases in the bedroom and joined her in the living room. The room was filled with cardboard boxes, making it hard to manoeuvre around. The apartment was fully furnished and smelt like fresh paint. Jaime looked around the room with a smile plastered on her face. "So does it meet your expectations?" I asked her. "It's perfect!" she exclaimed enthusiastically. It was nice seeing her this happy after our last get-together in Rotterdam. "So how've you been doing?" I hoped the question didn't sound to blunt. Jaime turned to look at me before answering "Alright I guess. I had a little falling out with Lisa, but we talked it out before I got onto the plane this morning" she told me. "She worries too much about me possibly relapsing." "I think Lisa just cares about you. Focussing on pursuing your dreams will keep you out of harm's way." I comforted her as I saw a worried expression on her face. "It's just that I'm scared I'll mess it up and disappoint her" she said honestly, looking at her hands. "Jaime, just stick to your plan and it will work out fine. I'm certain of it. Speaking of; what are your plans now you're in the Big Smoke?"

"Well I have a lot of plans actually. I want to perfect my song writing. I want to do gigs. I want to record a demo and send it out to some record labels. I want to -" "Woah there big shot" I interrupted her "Let's start at the beginning." She smiled a mischievous smile at me, "Well, since you're my coach. Why don't you show me the way?" "I'd be honoured to show you the ropes of the business milady."
