Pulling up in front of the bar I glanced back at Jaime. She hasn't stopped crying since Jeremy's outburst and I'd love to comfort her. I opened my mouth to say something but was cut off by the man sitting next to me. "Let's go find your pal now, shall we?" Jeremy said with a smirk. He opened his door and walked towards the pub. I turned around facing Jaime "J. I'm so sorry. I..." CRASH! I'm interrupted by a loud sound coming from the bar. I immediately spun around and saw that Jeremy has smashed one of the windows. He took a few steps back to the car. "Are ya coming or do I have to do every bloody thing myself" he shouted, clearly annoyed. With one last glance at Jaime I stepped out of the car and joined Jeremy. "So, we're really going through with this? I mean J. is willing to come with us to Leeds. We don't have to force her by beating this man up Jeremy" I said. Jeremy looked at me with a sick gleam in his eyes. "Ya serious mate?" He didn't wait for an answer and walked back to the car. I watched him pull Jaime out of the car by her hair. She screamed in agony until Jeremy pulled out his gun and put it against her head. I hesitated, but followed them slowly.
As he pushed Jaime towards the front door, a figure appeared out of the far back of the bar. "What is going on here?" A voice called from the light. That was obviously Ben's. As the man came closer towards us he saw Jaime standing in front of the door, not aware that Jeremy was right beside her behind the wall the door was attached to. "Jaime? Love, what are you doing here at this hour? What happened to my window? Are you crying?" Although I couldn't see her face directly, I knew her face would have looked horrified yet full of guilt at the same time. The moment Ben unlocked the door of his bar Jeremy pushed Jaime inside and followed right after her aiming his gun at Ben. "Who are you? Jaime, who is this guy?" Ben asked as his face turned completely white. "I'm the man who's here to teach this little lying cunt a lesson by beating up her dear old Bennie. Dean, get your ass in here already and hold Jaime down!" Without a thought I headed towards Jaime, my eyes not believing the scene that was about to unfold in front of me. With an enormous impact Jeremy landed the back of his gun on top of the old man's head. Ben screamed in utter pain and terror. As he fell to his knees, the blood was already starting to gush out. "BEN! NO, JEREMY STOP THIS! I BEG YOU. LEAVE HIM ALONE!" Jaime screamed. Her words had no effect at all. Jeremy kept bashing his fist into the poor man's face, who couldn't do anything because of the shock he was in. Blood covered his entire face as it was dripping down his tucked shirt. "Ben, honey, is everything alri..." At the back of the bar I saw an elderly lady come in, only to be horrified by what she saw. "BEN!! GET OFF MY HUSBAND YOU!!" the woman screamed. "Is that the missus Bennie? Well, this keeps getting better and better isn't it?! Dean, leave that pathetic excuse for a traitor in her tears and beat up that old lady! No witnesses, that's how we work remember?!" Jeremy shouted.
As I walked towards the lady I could hear Jaime begging me to not do this. "PLEASE DEAN, NOT MARY TOO!!" I grabbed the woman by her arm and held my arm around her neck. 'Is this really how I want the rest of my life to be like? Living with the constant fear Jeremy might snap at me? At all of us?' I thought as I looked at Ben, lying on the floor. At this point he was barely conscious and Jeremy kept kicking him in the stomach. I did not understand why, but something inside me just cracked. I whispered to the lady "Please, calm down. I'm going to let you go. Is there a backdoor?" The woman nodded in response, looking at me confused and desperate at the same time. "Hit me with your elbow. I'll let go and you get out of here." I whispered again. Without a thought Mary launched her elbow backwards, on which I let go of her. As she ran towards the backdoor, Jeremy came up to me with his eyes widened. "Did you just let that woman go?! ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS DEAN?!" I could see the hatred in Jeremy's eyes as he launched his fist into my face. "NO WITNESSES DEAN!" As my right eye and cheek were throbbing with pain I replied "Well there's no helping it now is there?!" Jeremy snarled. "Pick Birdie up, we're getting our stuff. We're leaving for Leeds tonight!"
