- Ricky's point of view -

"Ricky! Come on man, it's chucking it down out here!" Si yelled out while pounding on my front door. I rushed to open it and the four men ran inside. "Took you long enough" Peanut said. "Oh shut it. You should be glad I'm letting you in" I replied faking an irritated tone in my voice. The guys took their shoes off and followed me into the living room. We had agreed to chill at my place today. The festival season was over and we felt like we needed some quality time without having a big gig to worry about in the back of our minds. "Beer lads?" I asked them to which they all agreed eagerly.

"So what've you been up to these last few weeks Rick?" Whitey questioned. "Not much, been hanging around town a bit." I said after taking a sip from my beer. "With whom?" Peanut and Si asked at the same time. I stared at their faces "What do you mean, with whom?" "Oh cut the crap Ricky! How's our songstress doing?" Vijay interrupted the conversation. All the guys looked in my direction with anticipation of what I was going to say. "I guess she's doing fine. She probably working on her music as we speak." I answered. The silence that followed felt uncomfortable. Si grinned at me "You guess she's doing fine? Haven't you spoken to her after helping her move?" I glared at him. "Wait, she's moved? To London?!" Peanut exclaimed. "Yeah Rick cancelled our dinner date. I must admit I was kind of hurt." Si said, putting his hand on his heart. "Enough about your bromance already. I want to know why Ricky is avoiding a simple question here." Whitey said looking at me with a knowing look. "I'm not avoiding anything. I said that I guess she's doing fine." I told them all. "Don't make us laugh! We've all seen you with her at Glasto and we know you visited her in the Netherlands after our gig in Belgium. You obviously have a thing for her." Whitey continued. I stared at him in shock. "Have not! She just sees me as a friend." "But how do you see her?" Peanut asked.

At that point I heard my phone ring and grabbed it out of my pocket. Seeing the name and number on the screen made my heart skip a beat and a small smile crept onto my face. "Oooooh is it your bestie?" Si teased me. I shook my head and took a few steps away from the group before picking up. "Hey you!" I answered the phone slightly too enthusiastic. "Ricky hey! Is it a bad time?" Jaime responded, obviously hearing the gang laughing in the background. "No, no of course not. What's up?" In the corner of my eye I saw the four lads in the room look at me with excitement. "Well, tonight I'll be doing my first gig at Ben's and I was wondering if you are able to come along?" Jaime stated. "That's great! Well yeah, I would love to but the lads are here..." "Bring them along!" Jaime interrupted eagerly "I'd love to see them again!" I smiled at her enthusiasm. "I'll ask them, I'm sure they won't mind." I reassured her. "Really? Great! I'll be on stage around nine." Jaime told me. "I'll make sure I'm in before that time. Cheers." "Bye!" Jaime said as she hung up.

"And?" Simon asked while I walked back to the lads and sat down on the sofa. "That was Jaime" I stated. "No shit Sherlock!" Whitey said, rolling his eyes at me "Why did she call?" "She's performing at Ben's tonight at nine. She asked me to tag along and invited you lot too." I explained. "Ricky's got a date!" Peanut exclaimed. "It's not a ... Oh why do I even try." I gave up on trying to cover up my feelings. "Yes, I like her ok? But it's most definitely not a date!" I told him. "So will you guys come with me tonight?" I questioned looking at them all individually. "Nah, you don't need us to be your wingmen. Just tell her how you feel." Vijay said and the other men agreed with him.

That night I arrived at Ben's Bar at around quarter to nine. I ordered a beer and sat down at the counter so that I had a good view of the little stage. As I wondered how Jaime must be feeling right now I was tapped on my shoulder. I turned around and looked straight into two beautiful blue eyes. "I'm so glad you're here!" Jaime exclaimed while giving me a hug. "Can't say no to you, can I." I said hugging her back. "So the others?" she asked looking around for them. "Ehm, well, they ..." "James! Come on, you're on!" Ben's voice sounded over the crowd. Jaime smiled an apologetic smile and rushed towards the podium. She took a seat behind the piano and started her song.
