- Jaime's point of view -

"I think I'd like to go with Ricky's proposal." Once I had spoken those nine words, three people looked at me in three different ways. Ricky gave me a reassuring smile, Simon couldn't make his mind up about looking at me or Ricky and Lisa's eyes were full of doubt. "Jaime, I really don't think this -" "I've made up my mind, Lisa. This is where it all started, so this is where it needs to end." I interrupted, not breaking eye contact with her. Lisa sighed. "Fine, but we're doing this on my conditions. First of all, I'm going to pack your bags. Secondly, Ricky is coming with me for a minute. And lastly, the minute you mess this up, you're on the plane to Rotterdam." It took me a few moments to process what Lisa had said. "Deal." I said semi-confidently. Lisa gave me a stern look, slightly shaking her head. "Listen Jaime, you know I'm very fond of you. Please, for your own good, don't fuck it up." Lisa kept her eyes on me for a few more seconds before turning to Ricky. "You come with me."

I was left alone with Simon while Ricky and Lisa walked out the door. I noticed they left the door open just a crack and I silently walked forward. Simon stepped in front of me shaking his head. "I know what you're planning to do. Don't." he whispered. I manoeuvred around him and stood as close to the door as I could without them seeing me. "Jaime I..." Simon muttered quietly. "Shut up, will you? I'm trying to listen here." I told him agitatedly.

"I can't say I'm that happy about this whole situation. I still believe Rotterdam is the best place for her to go." Lisa was getting on my nerves. We had already agreed to this. Why was she still trying to convince Ricky otherwise? Ricky didn't reply so Lisa continued. "Ricky, if you're going to do this, it requires absolute commitment from the both of you. Jaime is an incredible person, but addictions are silent killers. They strike when you least expect it. I've seen it happen before, what withdrawal does to her. It's not pretty, you are going to see her at her lowest. She's going to try to manipulate you, guilt trip you and do everything in her power to get what she wants." Ricky finally spoke up. "You really think I'm stupid enough to buy her drugs? I don't mean to offend you, but I have a general idea of what I'm getting myself into." "A general idea isn't enough Ricky, you're going to -" "Excuse me, is this Miss Williams' residence?" an unfamiliar voice asked.

"My name is detective Roberts and this is my colleague detective Andrews. We're here to ask Miss Williams some questions regarding last night. Is she here?" My heart dropped instantly. My legs became heavy, but I still managed to rush towards my bedroom. "Where's Jaime?" I heard Ricky ask Simon. "She just ran off into that room." A second later I heard a soft knock on the door. "Jaime, this is Lisa. Can we come in? There are two men here who only want to talk to you." I didn't respond. "Jaime, if it makes you feel better I'll stay with you." Lisa added. I was sure they were here to take me away, but I had nowhere left to hide. I had to face the consequences of my actions. I walked up to my bedroom door and unlocked it, granting Lisa and the two men access.

"Miss Williams?" one of the men inquired. I nodded. The two men introduced themselves as I sat on the bed, holding my pillow close to me. Lisa sat down next to me as the policemen began to question me about what happened at Ben's Bar. I told them the whole story. From the moment that I met Jeremy up until I shot him yesterday. Not a single detail was left out. By the time I was done talking, my face was wet with tears and Lisa was rubbing my back. "Miss Williams, we are terribly sorry to hear what Mr. Brodes has done to you over the past few years. According to your statement and those of the several witnesses we can only conclude you acted in self-defence. For that matter, no charges will be pressed against you." I looked at the man in disbelief. I killed a man and they were going to let me get away with it.
