"Your mother was never there for you?" Nika questioned. "I'm so sorry. That must have been horrible." She placed her hand on his thigh and squeezed it.
Taehyung shook his head, his eyes closing for longer than it needed to be. "I'm fine. She never mattered much to me anyway," he muttered through the loud music.
Nika sent him an apologetic smile and rubbed his thigh before retreating her hand back. She waited for him to come back into the zone and get down from his drunken high.
To Taehyung, Nika was a great listener. She didn't seem to judge him, look at him disgustedly, or ask him for money. She didn't even seem to know who he really was, and he was in love with that. Taehyung noticed this before, but he never really thought about it until he was fully intoxicated by the alcohol, but he thought that Nika was beautiful. Her body was perfect.
She resembled a model, and he couldn't believe someone like her would be talking to someone like him. Taehyung liked to forget he was the son of a huge businessman that ruled Seoul. He started liking it so much that he forgot sometimes.
"Do you want to—maybe—go somewhere right now? Just...get some fresh air?"
Nika patted his cheek. "Are you sure? You're really drunk, Tae."
His cheeks got even warmer because of her nickname for him. She noticed but assumed it was because of her own body heat and the alcohol getting to his head.
"I'm sure," he mumbled, unconsciously rubbing his cheek against her hand.
"How about one more drink before we step out?" Nika suggested.
Taehyung nodded, eyes closed. His hand held onto the newly poured whiskey shot and he downed it, immediately getting up from the stool. "Let's go!" he exclaimed, pointing excitedly at the door.
Nika laughed as she followed him, making sure he wouldn't get lost. She smirked to herself, licking her lips and slipping the tiny bag of pills into her pocket.
