Day: I guess, maybe, this is the last chapter that it'll be Thursday. Since I made last chapter kinda long. Well, for me. We'll see...
( Red's POV ) ( I'm going back in time a little, to before officer Jenny and Dawn had arrived. )
Even with all the chaos, it came down to Gary, Misty, Sky and whoever was shooting hidden. I laid the end of my gun on the short wall. I sat on only one knee, as I was taught. Sharpshooting had to be silent, but the guns I could get weren't silent. Not that that mattered. There were only two known guns in the game. Nobody would suspect this shot would be against Sky. Screams, cries, gunshots. This place was filled with sounds, though the only thing I concentrated on was shooting.
Sky threw Gary on the ground. He hit his, already hurt, back, and had enough bad luck to still be awake. My eyes went to Sky who stood up, and walked to Misty. What kind of idiotic assassin did she think she was? She was closer to an embarrassment. So I pointed the end of my gun at the black haired girl. I took a deep breath, and pulled the trigger.
The bullet flew through the air, hitting Sky's leg. Not a very good shot, so I prepared to take another. Misty turned around. She looked so little from up here. She seemed to take a small step back by seeing Sky on the ground, grabbing her leg. That armor of her didn't seem to be doing its job very well. I aimed again, now that Misty was still away from Sky. The bullet hit Sky's shoulder, and I cursed quietly. I was too far away to do a better effort on killing her.
A motor came on the terrain. A woman stepped off of it, holding a gun. Her greenish hair and blue uniform even clear between the trees. I had been lucky it was on the border of the Vien Forest, not deep into it. That's the only reason why I could hide on the rooftop.
Nobody paid attention to Leaf, who finally got the knife and ran. Everybody's attention was focused on the motor and who was on it. My eyes widened. I came here for Leaf's sake, I wasn't gonna let her die. I ran down, forgetting my weapons. I had nothing to defend myself with. I ran downstairs, ignoring the elevator. That would slow me down anyway. When I got outside I ran behind the building to where Leaf was, hearing officer Jenny's voice.
"Come out!" I didn't care much about officer Jenny and the rubbish dump they called the Almia police department. I ran to where Leaf was. I could see her, just before she was forced to stop. A man jumped out of a tree, blocking Leaf's path. Leaf took a few steps back, tripping over her own feet. Her eyes were focused on the man, scared. I ran to the man, attacking him from behind. He turned around. Wrong. This was the wrong guy to attack. But I didn't know how else I could protect Leaf. The man threw me on the ground. I heard something inside me break, but I tried to get up, without success. The man came to me and punched me in the face. My underlip and nose started bleeding. Another punch, and I could swear that was gonna leave a mark.
"Red?"Drew asked, the only one not out of breath. I took one second to look at Drew, officer Jenny and Dawn, before another punch came at me. I rolled over, dodging the punch after that, but my face was already swollen, and just by rolling over I realized how much pain I had in my ribs.
The man came over to me, to punch me again when officer Jenny pointed her gun at him. "Hands in the air, or I'll shoot."she demanded. The man turned around, his hands up in the air. Officer Jenny walked to him, trying to get handcuffs on him. But the moment that she didn't pay attention he kicked her with the back of his head, his hands still free. He pushed her aside running away. There was no one I knew that could match that speed, or that strength. Officer Jenny ran away, returning with a motor soon after. But the man had a headstart, and with that speed, I doubted a motor could find him. But she left after the man.
I wanted to run to Leaf, but I couldn't move with the pain in my ribs. So instead, Leaf came to me. "Red, are you alright?!"she screamed. I wanted to nod, but I couldn't move without having pain. Drew helped Dawn with walking to the others. But Leaf couldn't carry me, certainly not when I was so hurt I couldn't even move. So we stayed here, waiting for officer Jenny to return.
