Special Chapter the First.

happened between
chap. 32 & 33, before

seonho told sohyun
about the bucket list.

♣Seonho♣

I stood there silently as the doorbell rang once again. I fumbled with my fingers as I nervously waited for someone to answer.

I looked up at the bright sky. Today was cloudy, the soft vivacious couds danced around the sky, covering the sunlight's rays from penetrating through the atmosphere. It was a good day, but my hands were trembling so much that I barely managed to recognize the fluffy clouds, the windy breeze, and the nice weather. All I could think was my one and only reason for my visit today.

I was here for a request.

"Who is it- ah, Seonho! What brings you here?" Mrs. Kim greeted me with a wide smile on her face.

"Good morning, Mrs. Kim! Is Sohyun awake?"

"Oh the kids are still sleeping. They wake up not later 9 am." She checked her wristwatch. "An hour to go. Do you want me to go wake Sohyun up?"

"N-No." I replied, "I came to talk to you today, Mrs. Kim."

A surprised expression was plastered on Mrs. Kim's face, "Ah r-really? Then come in! It's cold outside."

"Thank you."

She led me inside, "Please make yourself comfortable. Sit on the couch. I'll get some refreshments. Coffee?"

"Yes, please." I politely agreed as I sat on their couch on the living room.

"Here," Mrs. Kim gave me a warm cup of latte and sat down opposite to me.

"So what do you want to talk about? Is it still about Winter?"

I shook my head, "Well not exactly but, Winter's death was an unfortunate event that happened, i'm sorry Mrs. Kim. I should've done better. I was too late."

"Dear, no. We talked about this yesterday right? It wasn't your fault. And besides..." She gestured her hand to come closer to her. I did. "You risked your life out there. You... I know about your condition."

My eyes widened. "Y-You knew!? H-How?"

She patted my shoulder and let out a small chuckle, "We're neighbors. You live right next door. Of course I should know about it. Your father and I were very good friends."

"But I never go outside. I heard others even say that they didn't know my father had another son. They thought it was only Guanlin. They thought I didn't even exist." I said as I trained my eyes on there.

Some people don't even know I exist.

"Darling, people know you. Even if its only a few, people know you. You have Sohyun, you have us." She gave me a reassuring smile. "You should be thankful for that. You don't need everyone to acknowledge you, just a few people that'll love you is enough."

"T-Thank you." Unknowingly, a tear escaped my right eye, and I quickly wiped it before Mrs. Kim could see it.

Somehow that simple statement lightened up my mood. It was as if a few of my burdens that I was holding alone was lifted. Just the thought of having someone outside my family know I existed made me happy. Very happy.

"Mrs. Kim, can you keep it a secret to Sohyun? About my condition, I mean. Also please don't tell her that you know me and I live right next door." I asked.

Mrs. Kim looked confused for a moment. "What? Why?"

"You know about my condition right? I have leukemia. And to tell you the truth," I gulped. "I-I don't have much time left."

Mrs. Kim gasped. "Oh my gosh, my dear Seonho. I-I didn't know."

She stood up and pulled me into a tight, warm hug. "I-I don't know what to say."

"It's okay, Mrs. Kim." I broke the hug and gave her a smile. I bit my lip, trying to stop the tears from flowing.

"I-I actually have a plan." I started as we sat down once again.

"What plan?"

"You see, Mrs. Kim-"

"Mother." She interrupted. I looked at her in confusion. "You can just call me mother."

I nodded. "Mother, I really adore your child, Sohyun. Even though she can't see, she lived life as if she was normal. She lived everyday to the fullest. I would always see her smiling, unlike me, a hollow child who didn't have a will to live anymore."

"But that was just the past. Seeing Sohyun gave me hope and made me into what I am now. I am living because of Sohyun. If it it wasn't for her, I-" I stopped to catch my breath. "I-I would've ended my life years ago. Seeing how she was able to appreciate the world,"

I held back my tears. "...made me realize things. That I shouldn't be discouraged by a dark spot in my life, for hers was full of darkness itself-"

I looked at Mrs. Kim with my teary eyes. "Mother, can I- can I cry?"

She gave me a sincere smile. "Of course, you can." She said, her voice barely inaudible.

At her sentence, I cried. I couldn't afford to stop it anymore. I cried.

"S-Sohyun is so b-brave. She gave me so much strength. And I'm really thankful to her for that." I wiped the tears that continued to fall on my cheeks.

"I want to repay her to what she'd done to me." I stood up and kneeled in front of Mrs. Kim.

"Mrs. Kim, this will be my first and last favor to you. S-So can you please help me?"

Sohyun's mother, who was now sobbing, stood up and pulled me into a hug. "I-I will, Seonho. I will do my very best to help you."

"Thank you so much, mother."

A short special chapter for now. im sorry if any of you were expecting a chapter abt one of his bucket list but found out that it was another sad scene.

I just really wanted to show everyone how seonho asked sohyun's mother for her help, i felt like it was something i needed to show.

Don't worry, I will be publishing two more special chapters, but im not sure if i could publish more after that. I'll most likely be focusing on my other books, esp this series.

I hope you guys continue your support until the end of this series! Srsly, it motivates me so much :")
