That's a thing?

I watched as Kyle and Ruby whispered together about something. I sighed and turned back to my notes. I inhaled sharply as I saw Sam get slushied. I stood up and said "Mr. Potter, i need to go to the bathroom." James shooed me out. I ran over to Sam and said "Let's go." I dragged him to an empty restroom and made him sit down. "Why'd they slushie you?" I asked him. "I guess they heard me say that I was doing a duet with Kurt." I winced and said "Don't tell anybody, but Karofsky's gay. He just doesn't know how to deal with it." I wiped the slushie off his face and said "You're lucky it wasn't a blue one. That one just burns badly and you end up looking like one of those creatures from "Avatar"." Sam said "I've seen avatar like six times." I laughed and said "You get used to it." Sam said "But you're on the girl's Hockey team." I laughed and said "I'm in Glee Club. We're the bottom of the ladder. I'm lucky I'm a girl and took self defense otherwise, dumpster dives, locker slams, and other stuff would be happening to me. Ask Kurt. He gets thrown in a dumpster everyday. They lock him in closets and slam him into lockers because he's in glee. Just, keep an eye out for any of the jocks. They slushied me while I was seven months pregnant." Sam said "You're a mom?" I said "Yeah. Who'd you think the picture of my son and grandpa was of?" He sheepishly said "I thought he was like you little brother or something." Sam looked at me and said Lor manari." I looked at him slightly lost. "It means you have pretty eyes. It’s Na’vi… the “Avatar” language. Lor manari." I smiled and said "Thank you, but you should know, I have a boyfriend. Ask the football players. He defended me from them while we were at the Lima Bean." Sam looked put out.

Santana and Mercedes performed “River Deep, Mountain High.” Brittany looked on boredly; the rest of us were rocking out. Everyone of us cheered and applauded as the song ended. "Whoo! Ladies, nice work! What an incredible song!" Santana said "And just so you know, I’ve already bought custom bibs for me and Mercedes here. You know why? ‘Cause we’s be going..." Both said "To Breadstix!" They highfived. I rolled my eyes and leaned back in my seat. Mr. Shue laughed and said "You hear that, guys? You have your work cut out for you."

Jeff, Nick, and I sat in the kitchen waiting for Ruby and Kyle. Matt walked in holding Peter and said "Hey Marie? I think Peter wants you? I don't know cause he won't say anything." I felt my heart drop. I said "Matt, did you do that diagnostic spell healer Wood told us to do?" Matt said "No. I can't do that spell." I silently cast it and said "He can't hear us." Matt said "What?" I said "He's deaf. It's been going for a while."

Ruby's POV

I walked into the kitchen wearing the costume Kyle finally finished and saw Lizzy and Nick trying to do something to Peter Finn. "What's up?" I asked. Jeff turned to me and said "Peter's deaf." I sighed and said "Well, my costume is done." I twirled and Jeff said "You're gorgeous. I-I-I mean it's gorgeous. I'm awkward." I laughed and said "You're a total dork!" I then said "Can you come to my school tommorrow Jeff? I have a song I want to sing to you." Jeff said "Sure." I hugged him and said "Thanks Jeffie."

The next day after Kurt sang 'Le Jazz Hot' I said "Mr. Shue, may Kyle and I sing next?" Mr. Shue said "Go for it." I had Jeff sit in the front row and Kyle had Mercedes sit up front too.

Liz's POV

I watched Jeff smile brightly when he realized that Ruby was singing to him. Mercedes looked amused. Especially when Ruby made Kyle stumble while their were spinning around. Nick and I held eachothers hands as we watched the duo sing. Jeff, Mercedes, and I were the first to clap when the song ended. Jeff hugged Ruby and said "Thanks." Ruby said "Your welcome." Everyone started whispering when they noticed Nick and I holding hands. Finn said "Nick! I didn't know you were here." Nick said "Jeff brought me along to see Ruby, Kyle, and Marie." Jeff finally noticed Maggie and he glared hard at her. "Magdalena." He said frostily. "Hi Jeff. Look, I want to say I never meant to hurt you. -" Ruby cut her off and said "Hell no. You are not trying to say that finding you and that bitch going at it wasn't your fault. It was because you were the one cheating on the sweetest and most thoughtful guy ever." We all backed up except Jeff and Finn who held both girls back. I said "Maggie! Back the fook off. Ruby! Calm down." They calmed down. Then Ruby suddenly punched Maggie in the face. "That was for Jeff." She punched her again and said "That was for Marie Elizabeth." Ruby kicked Maggie's legs out from under her and said "That was for making Marie Elizabeth ashamed of making you Peter's godmother." Jeff grabbed her around the middle and said "No more action movies for you." I broke the ice by saying "Well, everyone. Meet my boyfriend Nick Duval, known by his fellow warbers as half of niff. Nick, meet The New Directions." Rachel said "But we're going against the Dalton Warblers! You can't date the competition!" I said "And It was different with you dating Jesse?"

Mike and Tina were standing in front of the glee club. To me Mike looked nervous. "I don’t think I can do this." He said. Tina said "It’s the perfect song for this very situation." Mr. Shue said "Whenever you’re ready, guys." Santana chimed in with "Yeah, hurry up. I needs to get myself to Breadstix."

"Don’t count on it. … I’m mad at you, but you’re still so hot." Brittany said. Santana and I looked at her bewildered. Mike and Tina sang 'Sing' We all cheered and applauded as the song ended. Mr. Shue said "Now that is a duet! Thank you, Tina, for introducing us to the amazing voice of Mike Chang!" Brittany said "That was good!"

The next day we all looked disturbed/confused/offended as Rachel and Finn, dressed as religious figures, performed “With You I’m Born Again.”

While Rachel and Finn were still singing, Mercedes said "t happening." There was awkward silence as the song ends. Mikeattempted a polite clap; Tina grabbed his hands. "Okay, do I even need to say it?" Mercedes asked. Sam said "That was really rude." Tina said "really rude." I said "That was extremely offensive to me." Rachel said "You sang about Morgana and Arthur having a child and being siblings." I said "Idiot, versions of the legend say that Morgana and Arthur's aunt decieved them and sent Morgana to him. We learned this in the ninth grade!" Quinn said "I seriously wanted to punch both of you." Mr. Shue said "m disappointed." Rachel said "What?!" Finn said "Rachel said "Shocked." Finn said "Shocked." Rachel said "t cost us the competition." Finn said "Rachel said "s sit down. Come."

Mr. Shue said "Well, getting back on track, who’s next?" Sam and Quinn stood up. "All right." Sam said "Okay, I just want to say I’m really excited, and that I couldn’t have asked for a better partner." Sam and Quinn said 'Lucky'. Santana, disgusted, near the end of the song, said "So freakin’ charming." We applauded.

The next day Mr. Shue said "Okay! Since Artie and Brittany have dropped out of the race, I guess it’s time to take it to a vote." The glee club is shown writing down their votes. I wrote 'Kyle + Ruby' on a pink slip of parchment. Mr. Shue dropped the ballots into a hat. "Well, even though it looks like just about everyone voted for themselves — even those who didn’t compete — we do have a winner. And the winner is… by three votes… Kyle and Ruby!" Santana said "What?! What?!" She jumped out of her seat. "Screw that, I want my ‘stix." Mercedes pulled Santana back down into her seat. "Ooh, let it go. Let go. Let it go!" Santana said "Unbelievable!" Rachel said "It was mine! No, I don’t know how this happened!" Mercedes attempted to console Santana. "Unbelievable." I heard Ruby say "Wanna do a double date, me and jeff and you and Mercedes?" Kyle said "Yeah."
