(Y/N)

"Just leave me alone, Jack!" I screamed from behind the bedroom door.

"No!" he yelled back, pounding his fist against the door from the other side. "We need to talk about this!"

"I don't want to talk to you!"

I heard him sigh loudly, and I thought he had given up. I relaxed until I heard the handle turning. I looked up and watched as Jack made his way into the bedroom cautiously.

"Jack, please, why can't you just leave me alone?"

"Because I don't like fighting with you, baby. I hate it. Please, let's just talk about this," he pleaded.

I groaned and stood up quickly, heading towards the door. Jack had really done nothing wrong. He hadn't hurt me and he wasn't going to hurt me, and I knew it was stupid, but I just didn't want to talk to Jack. I had to get out of the apartment.

Once I had gotten out, I walked quickly down the stairs until I could no longer hear Jack's voice. When I was out of the building, I could hear that Jack was getting close behind me. Without looking where I was going, I ran into the street, and I heard a loud honk and the screeching of tires.

The next thing I knew, I was laying on the street with Jack and another strange man over me. I winced when I felt the overwhelming pain in one of my legs and started to cry.

"You're gonna be okay, baby," Jack said soothingly. "We're just gonna get you to the hospital."

I nodded and let Jack hold me the entire way to the hospital, and I let him stay by my side in the hospital room.

The doctors told me that I had broken my leg, and the strange man kept apologizing to me, but I wasn't angry with him. It was my own fault. I was the one who walked straight into the street without looking.

"This is all my fault," Jack mumbled, covering his face with his hands.

"No, it's not," I said, pulling his hands down and looking into his eyes.

"Yes it is. I shouldn't have pressured you. If I hadn't, you wouldn't have run out into the street, and you wouldn't have a broken leg right now."

"No Jack, if I hadn't been stupid and just talked to you instead of running, I wouldn't have this broken leg. It's my fault, not yours."

He sighed and tucked a strand of hair behind my ear, kissing me quickly on the lips.

"I'm sorry."

I laughed. "No, I'm sorry."

"How about we're both sorry?" he smiled.

I nodded. "Okay."

When it was time for me to leave the hospital, Jack stayed by my side and helped me with my crutches until we got back to our apartment. He helped me get settled on the couch and I snuggled into him when he wrapped an arm around me. I sighed and thought to myself that I would never run from him again.
