“Guys are you sure this is ok?” you whispered, looking over your shoulder worriedly as you followed the Harries twins through the front doors to the office/warehouse where they worked.

“Of course, we work here after all” Jack sent over his shoulder, flashing you a grin.

“You know, when I agreed to doing this collab, I didn’t believe we’d be breaking and entering anywhere” you murmured to yourself.

“We’re not Y/N” Finn reassured you. he held up a shimmering silver item which caught the light. “We’ve got a key” he grinned.

You rolled your eyes as the doors swung shut behind you softly. You entered a large hall with a balcony overlooking it held up by pillars. “This is nice” you commented, relenting. Your voice echoed off the empty walls eerily.

“I know right!” Jack shouted, making you all laugh.

You noticed a shadow move on the balcony and you let out a scream, diving behind the twins, using them as a shield. “Who the hell is up there?” you hissed, trying to sound brave.

“Calm down Y/N” Jack was laughing fondly. “It’s just Louis.”

You stepped out from behind your shields and found a tall man with dreadlocks waving to you from the balcony. You immediately recognized him as Louis Cole, a famous vlogger who you watched on the weekends.

“Oh. Hi Louis!” you called.

“Hey Y/N!” he yelled back.

“Louis is our camera man for this evening. You know what we’re doing right?” Finn checked.

You nodded. Jack and Finn Harries had gotten in touch with you a couple of days ago, asking if you’d do a collab with them, teaching them how to dance. They’d seen a home video of you dancing to an indie number. You started off on Youtube with a short video of you dancing, just to see what people would think. The feedback was amazing and you had uploaded multiple videos of you dancing your own choreography to different songs. You had quite the fan base – if you did say so yourself.

“Right, let’s do this” you clapped your hands together in an orderly fashion.

Jack and Finn were dressed casually but you’d gone for grey sweats rolled up at the knee, black socks and a white crop. Louis clicked record, signalling for everyone to start from his height on the balcony.

Jack and Finn did their introduction while you stood behind, daydreaming. They introduced you and you waved brightly. Then you got to the dancing part. You tried to keep your eyes off the camera and pretended you were just practicing in an abnormally large studio.

As you filmed and practiced, giggling every five minutes at Jack and Finn’s horrible attempts to dance, you noticed Finn eyeing you up and down every so often. An electrifying thrill raced through your veins. Was he checking you out?

A couple of minutes later you had hold of Finn’s arms, lifting them above his head. “You need to stretch!” you cried, pulling on them.

“Ow Y/N!” he complained while Jack and Louis burst into laughter.

“You’re such a big baby, you have to-”

You were cut off as Finn lost his balance and toppled backwards, dragging you down with him. With an “oof!” you landed on top of him, sitting on his stomach. “Is it my turn to say ‘ow’ now?” you joked.

Finn grinned up at you. “I think you’ve broke my spine.”

“You’ll live” you replied evenly, sticking your tongue out at him.

He stared at your lips before reaching up as if he were going to touch or caress your face. You froze.

“Finny!” Jack interrupted the moment, snapping you out of your haze. “Look I’m a ballerina!” he cried, prancing about stupidly for the camera. You took the opportunity to remove yourself off Finn and get to your feet, blushing red.

“Aw Y/N’s blushing!” Jack crowed gleefully.

Louis chuckled behind the camera. Finn looked up to him, saying “we’re gonna cut that bit out mate, alright?”

“No way. It’s pure gold” Louis responded cheerfully. “Plus I’m sure everyone would love to see just how much you and Y/N are hitting it off” he added.

“Hey!” you exclaimed, blushing harder. “We’re not!”

“Don’t lie Y/N. You can’t resist my dance moves” Finn teased.

“Shut up” you shoved him playfully, giggling. “Let’s carry on.”

Half an hour later, Finn and Jack were sprawled on the floor breathing hoarsely. “How do you do this every day?” Jack rasped, trying to catch his breath.

“I work out” you flexed, chuckling.

“So do we!” Finn protested indignantly.

“Shut up Finn, no we don’t” Jack responded, making you and Louis laugh again. It seemed like tonight you’d been laughing more than you had dancing. You didn’t mind.

“Isn’t there something easier we can do?” Finn asked.

“The only easy one I really know is a simple four-by-four box-step” you answered, thinking.

Louis, Finn and Jack all stared at you with a blank look on their faces. To evaluate, you added “like a slow-dance.”

“Ahhh.”

You rolled your eyes as Finn got to his feet. “That one sounds good” he commented, starting towards you.

“Great, you and Jack partner up” you dodged around him.

“I want a tutor though” Finn whined.

You let a small smile grow on your lips as you walked towards him. “Ok then” you said, pretending to sigh. Really, you were thrilled. You took his hand in yours and placed the other on his shoulder. “You place your free hand on my waist” you instructed and he obeyed.

“Ok, now we box-step. Follow my lead … one, and two, and three, and four, and one – ouch Finn that was my foot!”

“Sorry!”

“Go a bit slower ok?” You raised your eyebrows, “nervous or something?”

“No” he muttered, watching his footfalls.

“Don’t break the dancer man!” Jack called out, making you crack up again.

Slowly, you guided Finn through the box-step and at the end; you realized just how close you two are. You stepped away quickly. “You’re good at that” you whispered.

“Thanks. Good enough to ask a dancer on a date?” Finn asked, closing the gap between you again.

Jack and Louis wolf-whistled, chuckling like little boys. You heated up, stammering “uh … I …” all your cool had vanished completely. “I don’t know.”

“I’ll take that a yes?” Finn wondered.

“Ok” you agreed.

“Great. I’ll text you” he tweaked your nose and you slapped his hand away, giggling. Finn turned to Jack and added “you can cut that bit out too.”

Jack smirked smugly. “Not a chance.”
