Hey! I haven't spoken a lot at beginning of chapters but I know most of you guys don't read the author notes. I'm gonna cut this short and just say thx for reading, and also please comment on what you think!

I have a close friend who has just published her first book (she also has a short story) and she is Rose_M_M ! Please check out her book and short story, it would mean a lot to her!

I apologize for this short chapter, but I feel like it will have a larger emotion grabber if it's like this. More chapters to come! Love you all my readers!!

~ Enjoy❤️

A strange object beats in his chest.... It wasn't his own spark, but something entirely different.

Over and over it continued...

As if it might break free... maybe even cut him with the broken shards of something that used to be so pure... so trusting....

He is breathing heavily.

From another room, he could hear the screaming. It came again and again. Not the one of fear or pain, but it is filled with anguish. Surprise. Maybe even a bit of anger.

His shaking wouldn't stop. He cried out in fear and held his healm between two clammy hands that couldn't stop trembling. Beside him, a small bed was placed against the wall.

His optics glanced below it, and for a moment he consider hiding, but hesitated. No, he couldn't act like a coward. Not when someone close by who he deeply cared about was in the other room.

He couldn't understand why... why he cared about that femme so much...

The screaming suddenly started again, and then a louder, deeper voice joined in. Yelling. Throwing threats. Soundwave held his healm tighter and tried to take deep breaths. Vents... breaths?

Memories that were not his own invaded his mind, but one held him so tight he couldn't move. The moment HE burst down the door. When HE attacked and left no room for running.

Now he was trapped in a room like a coward, waiting for his mother to protect him.

Mother... carrier?

I... am... S-Soundwave-

S-Soundwave...

The screaming didn't stop, and he couldn't think straight. With trembling legs, he stands and walks towards the door. Placing an ear firmly against the wood and listening.

Something slammed against the door and he jumped. Startled beyond belief, he let out a high pitched scream. A weak, pathetic noise. The only noise he had ever let slip through his lips since...
since his sires murder.

But it wasn't Soundwave, was it? He knew immediately that the whimpering and soft cries coming from his mouth weren't his own. They were too high, and sounded more like a child. A human child? Maybe.

He noticed a mirror across the room. Without much thought, he ran towards it and gasped upon seeing his appearance.

Long, black hair. Those optics.... not purple as his own but instead a dark green. That bottom lip quivered and tears invaded his- her, eyes.

This is me...

One part of him stares at the crying femme in that broken mirror and feels understanding. As if he was her. The other part of him wanted to know why he wasn't on the ship. The Nemesis.

Soundwave watched her cry and tremble, watching herself in the mirror without even recognizing that danger had stepped into the room. But Soundwave felt it. For a moment, he couldn't move. As if the universe was suddenly recognizing that he didn't belong there. That body wasn't his to control. It was someone else's....

A human fleshy he recognized...

Suddenly, there was another figure in that mirror. A mech standing taller than Soundwave himself glared at the femme sobbing into the mirror with dark black optics. When he leans down, Soundwave felt the small femme shiver. The mech made a twisted smile.

"Daddy's got you now."
