Another chapter right before college starts up again. I'll try my best to update within the next few months if I'm not drowning in homework or exams. Comment at the end, if you don't mind, about what you think of this chapter. Is everything going too fast? Is it good? Bad? I will take constructive criticism. Thank you.

Soundwave felt a shudder in his spark as he stared down the blood-red eyes of Megatron.

After escaping through the groundbridge, the silent mech had gone through his options. He had disobeyed a direct order from Megatron, which in and of itself brought shame and punishment upon any Decepticon. Though he could bear any punishment the warlord brought upon him.

A human couldn't.

Lynlee couldn't.

His spark ached as he thought about it. The idea ran through his processor again and again, and Soundwave hated it. He hated that he had become attached to something so much weaker than him. There was no reason to keep the human in the first place. It was illogical. He'd had no emotional attachment to the femme.

But now, after spending so many weeks with her, even when she would say nothing at all, he felt the need in his spark to protect her. The puny insect that brought nothing but trouble among the warship.

A tiny insect that was in Megatrons servos.

Soundwave finally decided to return to the Nemesis, as there was more of a chance to spare the human's life if Megatron was given a reason to value her. There was almost little to nothing, beside's the Autobots obvious need to protect humans. Still, it was a chance.

Megatron stood there, waiting for him in his throne room, coincidentally handling Lynlee in his right servo.

She didn't move or dare make a sound as she saw the familiar Cybertronian step through that Groundbridge. Her eyes simply stared in hope as she was gently squeezed. Megatron raised an optic bridge.

"You return to us so soon Soundwave." There was a small hint of surprise in his voice, and a little malice.

"Soundwave... captured by Autobots. Soundwave e-escaped..t-through groundbridge ."

"You escaped a base full of Autobots without a scratch." His eyes roamed over the mech, who shifted only slightly.

Indeed, Megatron noticed the resolve of the silent mech diminish. Soundwave did not seem to be as cold as he had been months previously.

"How did you escape? And without giving away vital intelligence, I assume?"

"Soundwave took h-..human hostage. Traded for groundbridge."

Megatron's eyes trailed down to Lynlee, who flinched. "It seems you are becoming soft towards humans. Escaping with a hostage would have set us a step before the Autobots. But I suppose you already knew that Soundwave? As it can be the only possible reason for you to disregard my direct order and keep this human alive."

Soundwave forced himself not to move as the human girl whimpered. Her body was bloody, with black and yellow areas around her limbs and face. Megatron had already initiated interrogation.

"Correct-... my Liege."

A smirk appeared on the warlord's face platings. "A step ahead, as always Soundwave. Though I suppose this human would give nothing to our cause." Megatron carefully watched the silent mech.

"We have tried to use hostages in our favor before, and the Autobots always retrieve them. This human has never even met the Autobots before, as I discovered during our little discussion." His claw jabbed at an injured limb, making Lynlee cry out. "So what are the chances that they would even consider saving something as incredibly pathetic as this?"

Soundwave knew exactly what Megatron was doing, and Megatron gave an evil smile as the silent mech shifted. They were both aware that the Autobots would save any human in the hands of the Decepticons.

Megatron was just looking for a reaction.

His sharp digit cut further into her arm. Soundwave forced himself not to move as Lynlees screams and cries rang louder and louder. Fear crawled up through his body and spark as he remembered those horrible nightmare's he had about her every night.

The screams were all the same.

The screams were going to be the end of him.

He needed to stop them.

Soundwave wanted to save her.

Moments before he was about to move, the evil mech slowly removed the pressure. The femme gasped in pain, unable to move or stop the bleeding. She was growing paler by the second. If she didn't receive medical treatment soon, she would offline.

Megatron smirked, but was unsurprised as the communications officer remained silent as always.

"She will be no use of me. Of course, I must be certain she does not know the location of the Autobots base, so I will see to it that her mind is thoroughly sifted through before offlining her myself."

"P-please no." Her eyes shifted over to Soundwave, begging for him to do something. But the silent mech, as always, kept his visor blank with no emotion as Megatron began to walk away.

"Your disobedience will be punished accordingly. For now, I require you to watch Starscream, as he also can't be trusted."

Soundwave felt his spark drop as Lynlee was taken away.

Offlined.

Lynlee will see her end.

Something in that moment shifted for the communications officer. Perhaps it was a change in spark, or the dark veil was ripped off of something that had started off pure to begin with. It was clear to him, as her screams continued to echo through his processor.

He was going to protect that girl, and destroy any mech that had hurt her.

Even if that mech was Megatron.
