Welcome Back

The trouble is you can shut your eyes but you can't shut your mind. Grant barely had any sleep the whole night. His mind never sleeps at night. He was wondering where it all went wrong. Everything felt so perfect from the start, then in a flash, it became terrible. He needed Candice right now, he wanted to sort everything out, so he called her. He called her and when she picked up he said, "Hey can we meet at Starbucks?". "Sure Grant, I'll see you there in 5.", Candice said and ended the call. 

They finally met at Starbucks and ordered coffees and were drinking their coffees in silence. Until Grant broke the silence and said, "Candice, did I lose you?". Candice gulped, "No, you won't ever lose me Grant, I just think we need a break and I need to figure things out, I guess.". Grant grabbed both of her hands from across their table and held it tight, "Tell me what's bothering you Candice, tell me what's on your mind, be honest with me, let me know how you feel, let go, open up to me... trust me.". Candice told him, "You don't understand Grant, and I can't explain.". Grant then said, "Please just tell me, try to explain please, I wanna know the whole reason for all of this.", Grant was desperate. He was dying to know but afraid to find out. Candice got her mind full of unsaid things, and she was scared to open up. Her mind is a mess, and she has no intention of cleaning it today. It was silent between them for a while. Until Candice finally said, "I know you love me Grant, I know you do, I love you too, I really do. Maybe I'm insane Grant, I don't know, I'm just scared and I feel like you don't really care about me sometimes. You didn't even say anything to Danielle or Andrew at the recent interview. Even before we started dating, you know how they always try to hurt me and exclude me, you never ever stand up for me. I'm so scared of this whole love thing, I haven't been in a serious relationship, or even a relationship in a very long time. How can I love when I'm afraid to fall?". There was silence again, Candice sighed, "Nevermind Grant, forget it, I'll see you after break ok?, I think we need a break with this relationship.". "No wait Candice, I just really don't know what to say", Grant told her, "I was so enchanted to meet you, to fall in love with someone like you, not only your face is beautiful, your soul, your passion, your heart and your mind is too.". Candice smiled, "You said I have a beautiful mind, but that's because you're all I ever think about.". They both smiled at each other, and realised how much they needed and loved each other. "Come on, let's get out of here.", Grant said as he held Candice's hand and went out of the cafe. They went behind the cafe, they kissed and then they hugged."I love you so much Candice, you're my queen,", Grant said as he was hugging Candice. Candice smiled, "You're my king Grant and I love you so much too.". She made him king, but there was no kingdom to rule...

Grant left and Candice was walking along the pavement. She bumped into Danielle. Danielle annoyed said, "um this is called a break Candice, miss me already?". Candice wasn't going to let Danielle ruin her day, "Trust me Danielle, if I knew you were going to be here, I wouldn't be in this state right now.", and Candice laughed. Danielle was now extremely irritated, "You should introduce your upper lip to your lower lip and shut up.". Candice shot back, "oh my gosh, shut up Danielle. Keep doing what you're doing to bring me down, but whoever is trying to bring me down is already below me.". Candice then continued, "Since the day we met, I've been nothing but nice to you, but all of my kindness to you, is taken for weakness. But I won't be weak, I'm strong, You try to knock me down and down again and again, but I get up again Danielle, I always do.". Danielle was not having it, "aww that's cute, is your little crybaby speech done? You know, I'm more famous than you, you know that right? You could be brilliant like me, but you're a coward.". Candice shot back, "You know what they say, you are what you call people. Have a nice break Danielle.", and Candice walked past her.
