The Golden Standard

It was the morning of the Golden Globes and Grant woke up with a text from LA, "Hey! I heard about you from your brother. It's crazy we haven't actually met, haha, hopefully, we can soon...". Grant's heart was beating so fasting and immediately regretted following her in the first place, he only loved Candice. Suddenly Candice texted him "Good morning babe! Can't wait to see you today!". Grant cried, he felt bad and was scared he was going to lose Candice forever. "Good morning my beautiful love, I can't wait to see you.".

After dressing up, Grant's limo went to Candice's place to pick her up for the Golden Globes. This was the night there were supposed to move in together. Grant saw her and was amazed by her beauty, can you blame him? They kissed and embraced in a hug, with Grant sniffing and kissing her neck, he missed her so much. "Okay loverboy, don't wanna show too much affection at the event now right?". Grant nodded, although he did not understand why Candice wanted to keep their relationship private, he still respected it. 

At the Golden Globes, time went by so fast when we were with Candice, he truly felt like the flash. If only he was actually the flash, he would slow time just so he could be with her longer. After the paparazzi's and photographers got their pictures, Grant pulled Candice aside. He wanted a selfie, they took the selfie, smiling from ear to ear, eyes getting smaller as sparkles filled their eyes. They truly were in love, and they both knew it and everyone around them did too. He kissed her, a long kiss he was waiting for all night. As he kissed, Candice pulled away and her face was serious. "Grant, you know I love you right?". "Of course babe", he answered. Candice was going to continue but she was not ready to speak her mind yet. She kissed him again, this time a long passionate kiss as if this was the last time they were going to kiss as Candice and Grant. Suddenly, Grant's manager showed up, he looked angry and asked to talk to Grant privately. Candice was confused but she admired how his manager respected their relationship...or so she thought?

Candice went away to catch up with Keiynan and Emily to take selfies. "You're not supposed to be kissing her", Grant's manager told him, "I found someone else for you, LA remember? She's down for a relationship with you, not a private one too. Imagine how your career would boost if you were in a relationship.". Grant did not want to hear it, he really didn't. "Just stop it" Grant said, and he walked away. That night Grant's manager was planning something that would change Grant's life forever.

Candice and Grant went home, he was ready to move in with her and get in bed with her. He longed for this moment and was finally happy it was coming true. Candice went in his apartment and they spent the night together. That night, Grant posted a selfie with Candice with the caption saying, "look how everyone is smiling because they're here with you.". Candice was happy and perhaps ready to commit a public relationship with him. That night Grant slept peacefully, dreaming about Candice will her head rested on his chest. She woke up to use the bathroom and decided to check her phone, the picture was blowing up. Thousands of comments, reposts, retweets, reblogs, and even new sites were already talking about it and speculating whether or not this was an announcement of their relationship. Candice didn't know how to feel and was scared when she came upon thousands of comments calling her the n-word and a monkey and racial remarks. She cried and cried all night until it was the break of dawn. 

Grant woke up and was shocked to not see Candice sleeping beside him. He went to the bathroom and was stunned to find her crying, he asked: "What's wrong my love.". She told him how his recent picture blew up but she was getting lots of rude comments. he looked at it in disgust and simply told her to "just ignore it". She got flashbacks of the night she was cast as iris West and getting so much racist comments, she was angry and upset, but most importantly disappointed Grant didn't stand up for her.

Candice dressed up and before getting ready to leave she turned to Grant, who was confused on why she was leaving so early on a day off, and technically, they are moved in together since last night. She told him "I can't do this whole relationship thing anymore, I know we had some disagreements in the past about privacy, and since you're a people pleaser, I won't hold you back anymore. I'm sorry Grant, I love you, I really do, but to be honest, this thing we have won't work out." Those words shattered Grant in ways no one could ever understand. he was speechless as he watches Candice walk out the door, his world was shattering.

Just at that moment, his manager called him... "So Grant, are you free tomorrow?"
