Octavian thought he hated every greek demigod until he saw her.

A redheaded nightmare.

It all started like this...

Octavians Pov:

Octavian was cutting teddybears when he got the message.

The greeks are coming. Hugh, Octavian hated them. Those blasted greeks had bombed Camp Jupiter once, what was Reyna thinking about? He walked outside towards the border line, where every roman was waiting for the greeks. Then suddenly a giant ship appeared in the sky and began descending towards them. When it landed, a blond girl went down a ladder and, one by one, all the greeks came down. He wasn't paying much attention to the greek and romans greeting each other but when he turned around and started walking towards the temple to cut teddybears instead of wasting time greeting the greeks, he crashed into someone and fell.

"Sorry! Are you alright?" Octavian got up and looked at the person whom he crashed into. It was a redheaded girl, a pretty readheaded girl. Wait what? Had he just said she was pretty? Whatever.

"What would you care? You're a greek." he said. Rachel looked at him offendedly and stuck her hand out. "Nice meeting you too. I'm Rachel Elizabeth Dare, I'm a mortal Oracle that sprouts green mist and tells prophecies." she said. I looked at her increduosly.  A mortal? he thought, who brings mortals to the world of the gods?

"If you wouldn't mind, I have to go work instead of being with Graecus scum and mortals." Octavian said. Rachel crossed her arms. "First of all, there is nothing wrong with mortals and second of all, I am coming with you." she said. "I am your counterpart anyways."

Octavian rolled his eyes and started walking towards the Jupiter temple. When he got there, he noticed that the redhead had actually followed him. "What do you want?" he asked, annoyed. "Just want accompany you, jeez chill down Octo-man." She said.

Octavian looked at her angrily. "I don't need company!"he yelled. "I'm fine!" Then he noticed what he had said. And Rachel looked at him.

"Your eyes don't tell me that."
He looked at her in surprise, but also with a little twinge of hurt and sadness.

"No one ever understands! No one cares and no one asks! Got it, Readhead?" he yelled and covered his face in his hands. He suddenly felt a hand in his shoulder and tensed. "Get off me."he growled. The hand didn't go away, it gripped him tighter. He felt anger rush towards him. "Get off me!" he yelled and pushed her so hard she fell. Octavian was standing now, towering over Rachel, and Rachel staring at him, really, really scared. Then she scrambled back and ran away from Octavian.

He fell to the floor crying.

How could he be so stupid? Rachel was just trying to help him and he just made her fear him, just as he did to everybody else, everybody that never asked, that never did anything to help him when he looked sad. But Rachel Elizabeth Dare wasn't like that.

She was the only one who asked, the only one to care if she saw something was wrong.

She cared about him and she just shooed her away. He didn't understand what she meant about the eyes thing, but at that moment he didn't care, he only wanted to say sorry.

Well that's a first for me. He thought, and decided to look for her.

And that's what he did.

For the whole week.

He tried looking for her, but she had vanished. And sometimes he thought he saw a wisp of red hair disappearing round a corner but when he looked there, there was nothing. Five days had past and it was time for the greeks to leave. Octavian payed attention this time, trying to see where Rachel was so he could apologize for treating her like that.

But he didn't see her.

He stayed until the ship dissapeared out of sight.

"Trouble, Octavian?" said a voice. He turned around to find Reyna looking at him. He was surprised. How does she know? "Nothing of public business, Praetor." he said. Reyna didn't say anything for a while, but after a while she spoke.

"We're going to the greek camp next week, so you can go there and look for the redhead." she said. And then just walked away. "By the way, Octavian," Reyna said as she walked away. "Get some sleep, you haven't had some for a while."

He watched her walk away, and then when to his "little house".

When he got there he collapsed in his bed and closed his eyes to sleep.
