Song: "Maybe" - Brainstorm

The campfire was a very quiet and calm place. The survivors were granted the wish of a warm place to stay in between the matches. Killers though? All they had was a poorly lit up fire, thick smoke escaping into the dark sky and the cold air embracing them all.
Evan growled under his breath as he appeared near the survivors' campfire. He just ended his trial and he should have appeared at least in the middle of the forest, but not here. He shook his head and with a roll of his eyes, he turned around and started walking into the darkness.
Why did the forest have to be so dark? He could barely see where he was walking, let alone find his way back to the killer's camp. Seriously, couldn't The Entity create the forest with at least a bit of light? Alright, it was supposed to be creepy, give away the bad feelings and make people uneasy, but come on! The thing that you couldn't even see your hand was just annoying.
Trapper growled when he heard rustling nearby and turned his head just slightly to glare at the intruder of his peace and quiet. "Herman, get out. I know you're there"
The Doctor laughed nervously, walking out into the small clearing. "Sup, Evan. How are ya, man?"
"Don't you 'sup' me, Herman. What do you want?" Trapper hissed turning towards him and crossing his arms. Couldn't he really at least once in a while enjoy being alone and away from this cu- stupid psycho. 'What the hell, Evan, what were you trying to think about?'
"Nothing really" The Doctor answered truthfully, avoiding Evan's eyes. "Just wanted to talk, I guess"
"You never want to talk" Evan rolled his eyes and uncrossed his arms turning away and heading in the direction he was going in earlier.
"Neither do you"
"Maybe because I want to be alone for some time"
"See? That's the problem!" Herman hissed and stepped in front of the obviously bigger and stronger killer and pointed a finger at him. "You isolate yourself and are aggressive towards everyone around you! That's why I don't want to talk, asshole!"
Ouch. Why did those words hurt more than they should have hurt?
Evan looked down at the other with a - mastered - bored expression behind his mask, although he said nothing, waiting for Herman to continue. They looked at each other in silence for a few minutes, as if they had a staring contest. After a while the doctor snapped and stormed of, grumbling something under his breath, like 'stupid', 'why is he like that?', 'asshole' and every other insults and questions he could think of.
Evan watched him go and sighed, walking towards the camp again. When he finally got there he saw Sally and Philip sitting by the tree talking. The two seemed to get along pretty well, they had so many things in common, Evan couldn't count them, even if he tried. Of course, he and The Wraith got along very well, too. They were best friends since the very beginning of this stupid 'game' after all.
The killer slowly made his way to the fire and sat nearby a big tree staring into space. Wraith seeing this, excused The Nurse very politely and walked up to Evan, sitting next to him and stealing a glance at the dim light the fire gave in the dark forest. They sat in silence for a few minutes, before Philip casted Evan a look from the corner of his eye and sighed.
"You should talk to him"
"What?"
Evan was taken aback. What did the other mean by that? He looked at the Wraith in return with a frown on his face and scowled, when Philip shrugged.
"I saw you arguing with Herman. You should apologize to him. He just wants to make friends with you" The Wraith explained quietly, like he always did.
His voice was always so quiet, so hoarse, but so gentle it was a wonder he was a killer. He was even more overprotective and an even better friend than Sally, who was called by the others 'a mother hen'. She was like a mother figure for most of them, but Philip? He always was with you, gave you advices and helped you with everything. He never failed you, even if he was busy or didn't really know what to do. Trapper was really curious, why a creature with a heart made of gold could be a killer, let alone in a game like this.
"And I can see how you look at him. You like him. More than a friend" Philip smiled slightly. He never smiled much, even if he was very, very happy, and he was never angered. He was a very patient guy, you could say. "You really should just go for it, Evan... While you still have a chance"
Trapper nodded a bit and smiled at Philip from underneath his mask. Even if most wouldn't see it, The Wraith always somehow knew what his face expressions were and what was he thinking, that was probably why he smiled back and stood up, walking back to Sally, this time Max joining their conversation.
Evan watched him go and turned his head in time to see Herman walk into the clearing and up to Lisa. He smiled slightly and looked back at the fire sparkling as much as it could in cold woods like these.
Maybe, just maybe, things will get better and they'll be together. Finally.
Yes, I'm a lazy, sick suck of sh*t. I'm so sorry, I've been trying practically every day to write this, but I got sick multiple times and I just wasn't able to do it and after it all passed I had to take care of school, stuDYING and all this childhood-killing stuff. Once again I'm SO SORRY and...
HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE! :DD
