Jackson finished up a few things that he needed to do in his office, made a few calls, and sent a few work-related emails. He walked around and made sure that everyone was doing their designated responsibilities, and double checked that his restaurant was clean and inviting to his customers. He made sure the bartender had everything well stocked and made sure that his waitresses looked presentable and had everything they needed. After he was finished with his once over, he decided to go home for a while. He couldn't get Kay off of his mind, and he there wasn't anything he was needed for at the restaurant. He didn't want to loiter around getting in the way of his staff.

Kay sent Jenna home after a few hours in training and prompted her to study the menu thoroughly. She talked to her wait staff and let them know that she would be in her office for a few minutes, but that she was planning on heading out for the day. She made sure everyone knew that she could be reached on her cell phone if she was needed. She walked through the restaurant as she did at the end of every shift she worked and made sure that everything was in order. She gave a few employees some extra responsibilities to make sure that everything was in good order. She went to her office and cleaned her desk, while trying to figure out how to get out of her evening plans with Jackson.

Kay locked up her office and headed out to her car. She had ten minutes before she was supposed to meet Jackson, so she decided to hide around the back of the shed to have one more cigarette. Halfway through, she saw lights from a truck pull up right next to the shed. She didn't even have to question who it was, as she already knew. Before she put her cigarette out, Jackson was standing next to her. She was trying to quickly come up with an excuse to get out of going to his house.

"I thought I would find you here. Did you want to follow me with your car, or just ride with me? I can always bring you back here when we're doing talking." The sun was setting, but Jackson could still see every feature of Kay's face as he spoke to her. He saw the nervousness that she was trying to hide.

"I'll follow you with my car." With that said she put out her cigarette and walked towards her car. She didn't look back at him, because she knew that if she did, she would climb into his truck and likely climb right into his arms.

Kay parked her car outside of Jackson's house. She took her time turning off the radio and the lights and making sure she had everything she needed. As she turned to open her car door, Jackson stood outside and opened it for her. She silently got out of her car and followed him to the door. She wanted to run back to her car and drive away, but for some reason it felt so right for her to be standing next to him, so she decided not to run. She followed him into the house and down the hall to the living room. Neither of them had yet spoken, so she took a seat on the sofa in silence.

Jackson watched Kay as she sat down on the big fluffy brown couch that was in front of the big picture window in his living room. Jackson was nervous because he didn't know what he would end up saying to her, and he had never brought a woman to his house before. Kay wasn't just any woman in his eyes; she was the woman that he longed to touch. Kay was the woman he wanted to make love to and spend his life with. He knew that he couldn't tell her of his feelings. She wanted to quit the restaurant and move on with her life, and he couldn't stop her. He loved her and he wanted her to be happy, so he was going to give her what she wanted.

"What can I get you to drink?" He asked, thankful to break the silence.

"Something strong, it's been a long day." Kay responded quietly.

Jackson walked into the kitchen and took two glasses out of the cupboard. He opened the freezer and grabbed ice for both drinks, and he pulled a bottle of rum from its place in the freezer. He opened the fridge and grabbed a can of cola. He cracked open the can and added the soda to the rum, so each glass was equal. He closed his eyes, took a breath, and forced himself to walk back down the hall to join Kay. He stopped short of the doorway and watched her as she stood admiring the painting on his wall. He couldn't stop thinking about how beautiful she was. He entered the room and handed her one of the cold glasses that he was holding.
