Kay woke up with Jackson's arm flopped over her chest and his leg tangled with her legs. She smiled and kissed him on the forehead. She knew that they needed to get up and get ready to go to her best friend's house for her birthday, but she decided to give him another minute to sleep while she drank in his beauty. After a few short moments of checking him out, she leaned down and placed a kiss on his lips, then another one on his neck.
Once Jackson was awake, they took a shower together to get ready for the day. Right as Kay was ready to step out of the shower, she felt Jackson snake his arm around her waist and he pushed her back up against the shower wall. Without a word, he bent down and sucked a part of her neck into his mouth and stayed latched onto her for over thirty seconds.
"Jackson Marcus Michaels, you best let go of my neck! What is with you covering me in hickeys? You do know that everyone at works sees them!" She yelled at him playfully.
"I was just marking my territory so other guys know to leave you alone." He smirked.
Kay pushed him back and climbed out of the shower. She wrapped her towel around her body and made her way to the mirror. After wiping an area of the mirror to clear the fog, she held her hair back and looked at her neck and then rolled her eyes. She had a large hickey on each side of her neck, and she knew they would be hard to keep covered. Kay had never been the type to appreciate hickeys. She vowed to herself to get Jackson back, and she wandered off to the bedroom to get dressed.
"Kay Lynette McKellar! It is about time you come home!" Lillie exclaimed. "Where in the world have you been?" She pulled Kay into a hug.
Before Kay could answer Lillie's question, Jackson stepped through the doorway behind them and placed his hand on Kay's lower back. Kay left her friend's arms and placed her arm around Jackson. She smiled a big smile at Lillie, before moving her eyes back to look at Jackson. Lillie looked back and forth between the two for a moment, as if she was trying to figure out if she should jump up and down for joy, or get ready to referee their next boxing match.
"That would be my fault Lil, I kind of kidnapped her." Jackson chuckled. He bent his face closer to Kay's before speaking again, "I didn't know your middle name was Lynette." He whispered in her ear, and before he could stand back up straight, Kay slapped his upper arm.
"You can just forget that you heard it too, because I hate that name." Kay scowled at him and turned back to her friend.
The party went well, and Kay couldn't help but notice how good Jackson was with his niece, Avariella. He held her for most of the party, and he even changed her diaper and fed her a bottle. He rocked her in the pink chair in her nursery and put her down for her nap. She had woken up while everyone was sitting at the dining room table eating an early dinner, and Jackson was the first one out of his chair to go rescue her from the confinement of her crib. It made Kay smile to know that if things continued with them and became serious, he would make a good dad.
Kay and Jackson left James and Lillie's house after everyone else had already gone home. They stayed for a while and played catch up with them and left in the late evening to go back to Jackson's house. They were both tired and it didn't take them long to fall asleep, and like Kay had promised, they spent all of Sunday in bed together, but instead of fooling around, they watched movies and slept.
Three weeks after Lillie's party, Kay had still been staying at Jackson's. She had only been home a couple times to grab some more of her clothes, or her shower supplies. They hadn't discussed living together yet, but they just didn't want to be apart from each other. They never argued, and they had become accustomed to sleeping next to each other. They even started going into the restaurant at the same time and leaving together every night. They each spent almost twelve hours a day at work and took one or two days off. There weren't many occasions that occurred where they weren't together, but once in a while, Jackson would have to go in the restaurant on the day they were supposed to have off.
