Jackson was reluctant about Kay going back to work, but he knew that he had to get over it because she was going to do what she wanted and if he interfered it would only cause tension that they didn't need. He got up the morning after their wonderful love making session and wandered to the bathroom to take a shower. When he got out of the shower, he noticed that Kay was dressed in some of her new "pregnancy" clothes as she called them, and she was doing her hair and makeup at the vanity in the bedroom. He slowly walked up behind her, wrapped his arms around her while placing his hands on her small round tummy, and kissed her on the neck.
"Jackson, I swear if you keep marking up my neck, I'm gonna slap you silly. Don't you think that having your children growing in me is warning enough for men to stay away from me? I swear you're so childish." Kay turned to face Jackson. She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him in for a kiss.
"I just want it to be obvious that you are taken. With as beautiful as you are men are going to want to try to get with you, pregnant or not." He smiled and kissed her back.
"I understand your tendency to be jealous, but it's really not healthy, babe. Even if a man tried getting with me, I would say no. I love you. I'm living with you. I'm having your children. You don't need to mark me like I'm some toy you're writing your initials on so I don't get stolen. I know trust is hard for you, Jackson, but know that I would turn down someone's advances because I choose you."
They finished getting ready and walked out to Kay's car. Jackson opened the passenger door for her, and then walked around and got into the driver's seat. He was planning his escape from work today without Kay getting suspicious of what he was doing. He thought he had formed the perfect plan, and he was just hoping it went as well as he was hoping. He listened to Kay as she told him about the things she needed to get done, and how they were going to tell their staff that they were expecting. No one knew she was pregnant, and now she was going to get to tell them that they were having twins. He smiled at her bubbly excitement and pulled into the parking lot.
Kay went in, adjusting her shirt to try to hide the small bump that was protruding. She knew that it wouldn't be long before she was waddling everywhere instead of walking. She went straight to the wait station to see if they had been neglecting it while she was off work. The doctor had allowed her to go on restrictions, but she had been staying home for the past few weeks to do the office work at home because it put Jackson's mind at ease that she was resting. She started organizing and cleaning up, telling herself to have a chat with her employees about the way they left things. After she made sure that everything was in order, she walked down to her office, but stopped short when she heard Jackson talking to someone.
"James, come on! All I'm asking is that you call Kay and tell her you're stealing me for lunch. I need to get out of here without her suspecting anything.... Seriously, you really think that low of me? James, you know that I love her and I wouldn't do anything to hurt her.... No, I can't tell you what my real plans are just yet... Oh shut up bro! You know better. Fine, I'll call Lillie and have her help me... Yes she will, because she trusts me... Whatever James, I have got to get going." Jackson sounded irritated.
"Jackson, what's going?" Kay asked with a shaky voice.
"Nothing baby, my brother is just being a douche. I didn't want you to hear my conversation with him, it will ruin the surprise." Jackson rolled his eyes and stood up. "Apparently, I can never do anything right." He huffed and walked past her. "By the way, I'm taking the car for a while, I need to get out of here and get my head on straight."
"Jackson, are you....? You know what? Just go." Kay walked into her office and slammed the door.
Jackson walked out and slammed the door on the way to the parking lot. Of course she would hear him, and now she was probably thinking the same thing as James was. As if he could ever cheat on Kay. She was the love of his life and the mother of his unborn children. He wanted to get away, but it had nothing to do with seeing anyone else. He slammed his hand down on the steering wheel in anger, and sped off down the road. When he came up to the building he was looking for, he parked the car and made his way inside.
