Elaine's POV

"Ni--Nigel..." I talked to the very angry man who was now standing on the balcony turning his back on me.... His shoulders slouched as he heard me, but still he determined not to turn around.... A sudden unascertained feeling seered inside my heart.

I took my tentative steps towards him with my shaken mind.. My whole physique felt so small as I stood behind his giant one.
"Ni-Nigel...." I called him for the second time, but he was still in his rigid form.... After a moment of silence his voice boomed...

"What do you have to talk?" He asked, but he was still fuming with his dense rage as his hand on the rails gave me the proof about it since it fisted up to a ball..

"Your brea---" all of a sudden, I started lisping as the beads of sweat glistened on my brows....

Throwing his hands in the air, he twirled himself towards me. Biting down on his bottom lips he shook his head in dismissal. I couldn't form my own words as his manful look pierced me right into my heart... Then giving me a dead look in the eye, he left me solely on my spot rooted, letting me embrace by the worry....

I was feeling a little weird about the conversation I had with Nigel a few minutes ago..

It was a feeling mingled with both regret and relief... But what I told cannot be undone nor changed since that was what I literally wanted in my life....

Flashback

"What if, we try this out...." I could literally feel the jitteriness in his deep husky voice. "We can start this off...... I mean as friends....." he said gluing his head down, but setting his eyes back on mine...

I was shocked to my core.

"Cause we are married and I want my mum to be happy, seeing us together...."

Out of the blue, His suggestion set me on a huddle of fire..... I never saw that was coming from Nigel, My so called arrogant husband who never wanted a relationship in his life.

Then why this?

Why on earth he has started to act like a normal human being all of a sudden?
My inner self questioned me.

"Nigel..." I swallowed hard... He was waiting for my words, the hope was clearly written in his illusional brown irises...
I closed my eyes before composing myself....

"No... That won't happen... I know where it would lead ourselves! We'll stay as the way we are now. We can do our husband-wife act in front of those third people." As I stated bluntly, I heard the sigh of frustration before he distracted himself away from me getting onto his feet..

So do I need myself to push through the temptation?

What if he is trying to make me fall into his trap, just to consummate the marriage?

Can I have my whole trust upon this man who I barely know for three weeks....??

"So, you still f****** love that bastard of your ex?" Grabbing me by both of my shoulders, he promptly rattled off to which my anger suddenly increased.....

"No.. How many times do I have to tell you Nigel? No, I don't love him anymore....." I angrily verbalized yanking his hands off me....

"For now, I don't wanna have any kind of relationship with anyone... I need time... I need some time to get myself adjusted to everything that occurred out of the blue in my life.."
I gave him a fake reason for the sake of myself....
