Where She Least Expects It

Chapter 12

Becky pulled up to the house and sat for a moment. She wasn't sure what to do or say. Alli was like her sister and she trusted her, but she hadn't told anyone about Tom yet. This was a big step even without the looming question over her head. She took a deep breath, got out of the truck, and walked into the house.

Alli was sitting at the table, drinking coffee, and working on her computer. She looked up and smiled, "well good morning! I missed you!" She got up and gave Becky a hug.

"I missed you too. Is Brandon out?" Alli looked at her strangely and nodded. Becky tried to smile, "I'll be right back." She went to the bathroom and opened the box up. She did her business and left the test on the counter while setting her phone timer.

Alli had poured another cup of coffee and moved to the couch. "So what's up?"

Becky took a deep breath and whispered, "I'm not really sure where to start." She took a drink of the coffee and sat for a minute, watching the seconds count down on her phone.

Brandon walked in, "Hey sis." He kept walking, and she heard a door close.

"Where's he going?"

Alli shrugged, "probably the bathroom."

"The main bathroom?" Becky's heart started to race a little.

"Probably not...he usually uses ours...why?"

Before Becky could answer, he walked back out holding it. Becky's jaw dropped.  Shit shit shit shit shit!

He looked at Alli, "honey, why did you take another one?"

Becky's jaw dropped again and so did Alli's, they were looking at each other and Brandon was looking at them both, of course completely confused. 

Becky finally looked at Brandon and whispered, "it's positive?"

He nodded. 

She felt a tear slip out, she was pregnant.  And, if she was reading this situation right, so was Alli.  Well at least she wouldn't be alone.  What was she going to tell Tom?

Alli finally found her voice, "Brandon, it's not mine.  I think you had better go."

Brandon went white as a sheet when he realized who's it was.  "Beck?  What the hell does this mean?"

"It means I'm pregnant.  You are too, Alli?"

Alli smiled at Becky and took her hand, "guess we'll be pregnant together huh?"

Becky nodded, then turned back to her brother, "Brandon, I would say congratulations, but it looks like you're having a hard time breathing."  He nodded, still pale and in shock.  "I will explain, I promise, but could you give me and Alli some time?"

Alli stood up and went to whisper in his ear.  He gulped, nodded, turned, and walked out.  Becky raised a questioning eyebrow but didn't say anything.  " I think you have some explaining to do...not a virgin anymore huh?"

Becky chuckled nervously, and the tears started flowing, "I don't think I know where to start."

Alli pulled her into a hug, "the beginning?"

Becky nodded, "well...your bachelorette party. You guys left..."

Alli was apparently getting impatient, "Tom was supposed to bring you home.  Don't tell me you hooked up with some random guy instead."

"Nope...not random at all."

"Wait...no way..."

Becky nodded, "Tom took me home.  I was drunk and mad at the guys.  I started spouting off about dying a virgin, then he lost it and..."
