Well Becky wasn't far off the mark in thinking that she would be too busy to think that week. The only time she was left to her own thoughts was when she was by herself, at home, at night. But damn if she didn't think about it every night and he was in her dreams too. How could you miss someone after just one night?
It was already Friday afternoon. She had a few minutes to get ready for the rehearsal. She put on a halter maxi dress, striped with bright springy colors and a denim jacket over it. Her brown hair was curled, her makeup was light. She looked like herself...no different than before but she felt different. She had managed to avoid him all week, but that would end tonight. He was the Best Man, which meant he would be walking with her as the Maid of Honor. Of course she couldn't tell Alli that that wouldn't work, it was just how it had to be, and answering the questions as to why it was a problem would be another set of challenges altogether.
So she walked into the rehearsal and immediately saw him standing with Tripp and Sean talking. Somehow he knew she was there because he turned to look at her. He looked nothing like a lawyer in his jeans, boots, and pearl snap shirt. It was his casual attire, she had seen it before, but never when she knew what lay under those clothes before. He looked away again quickly.
She made herself turn and find the girls to see if she could do anything. It might be a long night, but she would avoid it as long as possible.

He hadn't expected to hear from her soon or really at all, but he had hoped a little that he would. She would be confused and sorting through what happened would take time. He knew he would see her Friday night and that he would have to keep it together in front of everyone. He hadn't been able to get her out of his head though. It was the craziest thing, to find that someone you thought you knew...you didn't really know at all. Now, all he saw was her body underneath his when he thought about her.
He knew the exact moment that she walked into the barn Friday night. He couldn't explain it, but somehow he just knew when to turn around. She looked like her old self, no scandalous outfit, just a long dress and denim jacket. It didn't matter, she was still drop dead gorgeous. He turned around quickly, hoping no one noticed or thought it was out of the ordinary.
As things got under way, he had to go and stand next to her as best man. She smiled at him nervously, and he was afraid he would come undone right then and there.
"Hey Becky, you ready for this?"
"Ya, it's been a long week, but definitely worth it."
They were interrupted by the minister giving instructions and before long, she had to put her arm in his. He felt the spark and wondered how the hell he hadn't ever noticed it before. They started to walk down the aisle slowly.
"You doing ok?"
She smiled a little again, "ya. This doesn't have to be awkward you know."
He chuckled a little, "it's not. You look great tonight by the way."
"Thank you, so do you."
They reached the front and parted ways, but he continued to watch her. The rest of it was a blur. He made note of when to give the rings and the other little things to do, but mostly he just tried to discreetly watch Becky.
After the rehearsal portion was done, it was time for dinner and he didn't manage to get close to Becky again.
The rest of the night was spent with the guys. He wished he could have found Becky instead and reminded her of the last time they were alone, but then that would probably just scare her.
