After a little more discussion, they had decided to have his parents come over early and then Becky's family a bit later. That way everybody could be included, but they could tell his parents on their own.
Tom tried to soothe Becky's nerves the best he could, but it didn't seem to be helping. He reminded her that she already knew them, that he was old enough to make his own choices, that his parents already liked her. Nothing seemed to help that much, so he decided to try distraction while they waited for his parents to arrive.
They were making out in the kitchen, when they heard someone clear their throat. He turned around to see his parents standing at the back door. His dad was laughing while his mom looked confused. He looked back at Becky, and she was blushing while hiding her face in his chest.
He tried to hide his smile, "come in guys."
His dad opened the door for his mom, and they walked into the kitchen.
John chuckled again, "Becky, it's nice to see you. It looks like you're feeling pretty good?"
"I am sir," she answered but didn't quite make eye contact.
He walked over and pulled her into a hug, saying, "now I think you can drop the 'sir' after what we just walked in on."
"John, take it easy on the girl. Tom, is this the reason you called us over for supper? Is Becky the girl you've been seeing?" She hugged Becky too, then Tom.
He grinned, "she is."
"Well, how wonderful!"
"Mom."
"What? It's about time you have an actual relationship!"
He rolled his eyes, and Becky laughed, obviously enjoying his embarrassment. "Well that's not all."
"Oh?" His parents said at the same time.
He winked at Becky, who had gone back to being nervous pretty quickly. "In the interest of putting it all out there...Becky is about three months pregnant."
They looked at each other and then at Tom and Becky with wide eyes.
His mom whispered, "pregnant?"
Tom and Becky nodded.
John smiled, "well, I guess we're finally gonna have a grand baby honey."
Tom saw Becky relax a little, but she was still watching his mom.
Finally, Holly smiled and hugged Becky. "Oh sweetheart. How are you handling things?"
He noticed Becky tear up a little, but she grabbed her crutches and went to sit down at the table with his mom sitting down next to her. "Well, it took awhile. Tom is my first boyfriend. We finally figured it out though. I'm going to officially move in."
"Is there anything I can do? This can't be the easiest time to think about moving."
"Thank you. I'll let you know. Are you two ok with this?" She looked at both of his parents nervously.
John smiled and put his hand on his wife's shoulder, "of course! We know it wasn't exactly planned, but this baby is still a blessing for all of us. I'm sure your parents feel the same way, Becky."
She snorted, "nobody will talk about it so who the hell knows?"
Tom smiled and took her hand, "I promised I'll do better."
She locked eyes with him, "I know."
Neither noticed the excited look his mom gave his dad.

Becky was extremely relieved to hear his parents' positive reactions. There wasn't much that she could do with her leg still in the cast, so she just sat and watched her family and Tom's parents throughout the evening.
Alli came over to her, "You look happier honey. Did I hear something about you moving in for good?"
She grinned, "yup."
"Hmmm, you two finally talked?"
"We sure did." She winked at Alli.
Alli started laughing, "no more dry spell, huh?"
"Shhh, I don't think the men of this family are extremely comfortable with it yet! Yes, we talked it out and showed our feelings as well. He asked me to move back in and told me he loves me."
"Lucky girl."
"Thanks."
They sat together and chatted for awhile longer. Brandon eventually came and said it was time to head home. After they left, her dad came and sat with her. "How are you sweetie?"
"I'm good, daddy."
"He's what you want?"
"He is. It's just right."
"Good. I can't say that I would have guessed him to be the right match, but he is one of the only men I would think is good enough."
Her mom came and sat on the other side of her, "so, this is where my grand baby is gonna live, huh?"
"Not bad, huh?"
"It'll do," she said with a wink.
She had been dying to ask her parents about how they were accepting everything, this seemed like as good a time as any. "Are you guys really ok with all of this? I know it was sudden..."
They looked at each other and then her mom spoke for them both, "Becky, as long as you are happy and you love him, we are good."
She smiled, "thanks guys."
Her parents left, along with Sean and Tripp. Tom was talking about the house he was working on with his dad. Holly came over and sat down with her.
"How are you feeling Becky?"
"Pretty good actually. I haven't had much morning sickness....I'm just starting to notice my stomach rounding," she couldn't help but smile when she talked about the baby. Figuring things out with Tom had allowed her to really let herself get excited now. The tension had finally left.
"You look happy."
"I am...really happy."
"He looks happy too."
"Really?"
"Really. Thank you for loving my son, Becky."
Tears welled in her eyes, "I couldn't help it."
Holly smiled, and they sat for awhile longer until John came over to take her home.
As they lay in bed that night, wrapped in each other's arms, Tom whispered in her ear, "I love you. I was so lonely before you came along."
She looked up at him with tears in her eyes, "I love you too. I think we both were. Amazing how two incredibly lonely people can be the perfect cure for each other."
