After Tom admitted to them that he was in love with Becky, Alli pulled the guys out of the room to give him some space. If he thought he was going to break before, it was nothing compared to what he felt now. She was going to have his baby. No matter what happened next, they would be forever linked together. He knew he loved her, but what surprised him most was that in the few seconds of hearing about the baby he immediately fell in love with Becky again and fell in love with their baby.
He finally sat down and gave up a silent prayer for Becky and the baby. He prayed that she would recover fully and the baby would be ok. He prayed for the future he hoped they could have together. He prayed for the family that he hoped they would become.
He wasn't sure how long he sat there thinking, but, a little while later, Brandon came in and sat in the chair next to his.
"Alli told me to check on you. She says you're supposed to come out and eat something. We're a little over halfway. It won't be much longer."
Tom nodded but didn't move.
"Look, man, I've been in your shoes. The brooding doesn't help matters."
"Why not?"
"Because, if you're anything like me, which I know you are, you haven't slept or eaten properly since she left. And as much as I'd like to kill you, Becky already told me she'd prefer for you to be alive."
He looked at Brandon, "look man, I get it, and I don't want this to hurt our friendship, but if I have to pick...there's no choice, it's her."
"Well I hate to get all mushy, but that's how I know you're serious about her. How did this happen?"
"The bachelor party."
He chuckled and Tom looked at him like he was crazy. "Well at least I know we were right about that outfit of hers."
Tom put his head in his hands, "I'm having a hard time finding things funny right now."
Brandon looked at him for a minute, "man I know. You're scared and worried, but Becky is probably a bigger fighter than any of the rest of us combined. She'll get through this, you're job is to just help her as much as you can."
"But what about the baby?"
"Well, I suppose that's in the doctors' and god's hands right now."
He finally nodded, "alright, let's go eat."
They walked out to the main area where Alli, Tripp, and Sean were eating. They looked up, Alli smiled and the guys nodded. He supposed that was better than nothing. He settled in and tried to keep his mind off of it for now.
A few hours later, they were walking into the hospital. Brock's boss had sent a car to pick them up at the airstrip. They left their bags in it and hurried in to the hospital. When they made it to the ICU waiting room, they saw Mike and Janie talk to three other people.
Mike saw them first and motioned his head towards them. Janie met them halfway and hugged Alli first. "When did you get here?"
Janie answered her, "about five minutes ago." She took Alli's hand in hers and led them all to the others.
Mike made introductions for Henry, Angela, and Chris. "I'll let Angela fill you in, she seems to know the best."
Angela nodded, "Brock is doing well. He has a concussion. It's nothing serious, but between that and the bangs and bruises, a couple cracked ribs, he's going to be in a lot of pain. They are keeping him sedated for a little while longer. They just told us they were going to start bringing him out of it in about an hour."
