After an exchange of questions and answers between Melina and the gnome doctor known as Dr. Twigs, a conclusion was made that whatever is happening to Melina to keep her awake is not physical or mental.

Someone or something is affecting her. What that is remains unknown. Melina thanks Dr. Twigs and heads back towards her room with the candle in hand.

"Melina Seipora?" A man approaches her in a full suit of blue and grey armor aside from the helmet. Long doubled sided sword in hand. Melina turns her gaze towards the man. Recognizing him as Daximus. The Brute Leader of the Frostguard. "Word spread you returned. You got three more days of rest. Why come back early?"

Melina gives a half smile and decides to chat. She's never been fond of Daximus. He may worship Zixone, Titan of the Sky, but even then, she found him to be too much of a brute in general.

"Hard time sleeping and Dayton returns to patrol tomorrow, sir." Melina looks into the flame of the candle with a little bit of fatigue beginning to take over her.

Daximus takes a notice to her drowsiness. "Perhaps you should be removed altogether." Daximus continues by as Melina blinks once more before the last of her vision catches the flame of the candle. Melina collapses onto the stone floor with the candle putting itself out on contact against the ground.

The clatter of the candle's tray catches the attention of Daximus. He turns to see Melina unconscious in the dim light of the rising sunlight peering through the windows.

"Seipora!" Daximus places his blade against the wall and rushes to the fallen Melina to sit her up. "Gordon! Taven! Assistance now!" Daximus shouts for the guards nearby to help, Melina's skin starts to turn pale.

Gordon and Taven round the corner. Daximus orders them to carry Melina back to Dr. Twigs while he tells the other leaders of what just happened.

A couple hours later. Melina struggles to open her eyes, but with a hard awakening she finds herself in the company of a worried Dayton.

"Melina.. i'm worried about you." Dayton's eyes look as if he just got the worst news ever.

With a groan of pain, Melina sits up to face Dayton on an eye level. "How bad is it?"

"Twigs told me something about you is cursed. It's slowly killing you. All your clothes, armor, jewelry, weapons. All of it. It has to go."

Melina shakes her head in defiance. "No..." All her armor and weapons kept her connected to her father. "I have a mission to do..." she tries to stand, Dayton holds her down.

"Are you crazy?" He looks into her blue eyes. Seeing the tiredness and the hatred within them. "You've done insane stuff before to prove you can be like Carsin, your father. But you can't go on that mission like this. I'd do anything for you, but I won't help you kill yourself."

"Fine." Melina replies with a cold snap. "I'll honor my word to my god-king, my father, and i'll save my mother. If I die, so what."

"This isn't vengeance. Listen to me!" Dayton rises to his feet with his hands clenched into fists. "I promised your grandfather that my life would end before yours."

"We all make stupid promises. My father made them too."

"Why do you continue to see him as such a hero, Melina! He was no better than the rest of the agents.."

Melina doesn't reply. She stares blankly into Dayton's armor. Silence fills the room and Melina looks to the doorway and back to Dayton. Without a word, a silver mist shrouds her appearance. It quickly fades to reveal her disappearance.

Dayton sits back down frustrated with himself and Melina as he realizes he may have pushed her too hard there.

Melina reappears down the hall with the silver mist dissipating around her. She looks back at the entrance to see Dayton not coming after her.

"I'm sorry." She whispers towards the entrance. Knowing Dayton wont hear it, but just saying it made her feel slightly better.

She makes her way to her room where she dresses into the armor with the built in cloak that grants vision in darkness. Her bow and arrows and a random sword from Dayton's collection of many sized swords.

Fully armored Melina makes her way outside the stronghold. She takes the horse from the stables and rides off away from the stronghold without another word. No consulting the leaders or warning to other patrol members. She still had a few days of rest anyways.

With a mindset of anger and confusion, Melina knew that The Dark Queen was behind this. Somehow Melissa was trying to stop Melina from succeeding.

Melina rides on for the full day. No stops for food, no stops to rest the horse, no stops to even use the bathroom. There's no time for any of that. She's dying and she feels that stopping the source will save her.

"I will save us both, mother. You just need to remember what side Carsin is on and you'll pick that side every time."

On her travel with the given time to think, Melina makes the connection of the new sword and armor in her vision aligns with the statement of having to remove all the items of everyday life.

The question reminds however, what is killing her? What is making her see this vision every night that keeps her awake?
