Tarona makes sure her gloves are on tight as she places her hands down onto Dayton's body. A hand on his chest and the other on his forehead.
Kywin watches idly by. "Have faith, Avin." He says aloud. Tarona looks at him and he nods his head. She asked for silence in this.
Tarona takes a deep breath as the gems in the gloves begin to light up a bright green. Tarona closes her eyes and focuses the energy. Her eyes move around inside her head as if she's searching. The green light darkens as Tarona presses her hands harder onto Dayton's body.
"Come on.." she says. "Where are you..?" The silence fills the room as the green light begins to flicker and dim, getting weaker.
Kywin shakes his head and turns away knowing what that light means. The light fades away completely and Tarona pulls off the gloves. "Looks like Melina will have to carry on without Dayton." She puts the gloves back in the chest and shuts it. "I'm sorry, Ky."
Kywin turns back to Tarona with his eyes turning red. "Let's take Dayton home to be buried."
Tarona nods as she takes the crate back to her back room. They spend the next few hours making a casket to carry Dayton's body in. Putting him inside it with his armor cleaned up from the blood.
They put the casket in the wagon and ride off towards Yggdrasil to have Dayton be buried by his friends and mentors there.
"Can I ask you something, Ky?" Tarona asks from a second horse they decided to bring to help pull the load. "Why is this so important to you?"
"What? Helping Dayton and Melina?"
"Yea."
"Well. Avin is adamant about it and we both know Avin. Yes, Avin, you are a nuisance."
Tarona smiles as she listens in on Kywin talking to himself now. "Good thing I know about Avin. Otherwise i'd think you are insane."
They continue their travel and reach Yggdrasil by Xrenna 1st. Coming in contact with many guards and being able to pass through with Lara's permission on one condition. She has to confirm it is Dayton.
Lara steps into the wagon and opens the casket to see Dayton's rotting body. Lara wipes her one eye and closes the casket. "Take him to the burial site. We'll have a funeral for him tomorrow."
The guards carry Dayton away and Tarona says she is going to return home to her cottage by the freezing lake. Kywin stops her for a moment and confronts Lara.
"Has Melina returned here?"
"She has. She's been back for almost a week now. She's with Dr. Twigs." She walks off to leave and Kywin and Tarona alone.
"Let's at least tell Melina personally." He says and Tarona sighs in agreement. "Fine, but I miss my plants already, Ky."
They go up a few stairs to the infirmary level and while approaching the door they hear Melina screaming on the other side of the wooden door blocking their entrance.
"What do you think is happening?" Tarona presses her ear to the door. "Did she lose another limb perhaps? Fascinating."
Kywin shrugs and gives a weird look to Tarona. "This is her home, whatever is happening i'm sure it's for a good reason. And fascinating?"
"I have an obsession to plants and gruesome injuries, okay. Everyone had their thing.. you talk to a voice in your head."
"Touché"
