Melissa circles her throne with a face of anger. Her hands clenched into tight fists. Bruises lining the outside of her fists like she's been punching metal. Daximus sits on the throne with his hands tied to the arms with chains. He sits with his eyes beaten and purple.
Blood drips from the nose of Daximus and falls into his lap. His breathing is slow and Melissa keeps her circular pace around her own throne. "You tried to kill my daughter behind my back. As what? An act of revenge for your brother?" Melissa curls her fingers into a fist and then opens them back up as if she's squishing something between them.
"You ruined the plan, Daximus!" She stops to face him. Their eyes connecting with one another. "Keep Melina out of where, Dax?"
"Neomic.." the words fumble out his mouth, carried out by the weak breathing of his.
"And where is she now! Rallying an army!" Melissa pulls back her fist and tries to fight the urge, but throws her fist into his nose. A loud crack is heard on impact as the bridge of his nose breaks and a thick ball of blood drops from his nostril and into his lap.
"Neomic.." he rests his back against the throne, but Melissa grabs his head and pulls it forward. "You have two weeks to recover with the clerics and train. Then you will march your pathetic soul into Neomic and kill Marcon and Lara."
He doesn't reply immediately and Melissa slams his head back into the throne where he tried to rest it. "Do you comply, Dax!"
"I.. comply." He says and Melissa lets go. Dax slumps in the throne and takes in his harsh breathing in peace.
Melissa takes off the chains. "Betray me one more time and you'll end up like your brother." The eyes of Melissa begin to turn from their blue to a red. Much like what was happening to Melina in the snow when she got angry with Carsin and Dayton.
Daximus notices the red eyes and stays silent. Not like it was easy to speak anyways. "You can walk to the clerics. I didn't harm your legs." She pulls Daximus off the throne and shoves him to the ground.
Daximus stands up slowly and limps his way out of the throne room. Melissa closes her eyes to gather her thoughts. A golden light shines over her eyes and she opens them back up to see Carsin standing ten feet from the throne.
A long time ago, Melissa would have jumped from the throne into Carsin's arms. "Almost twenty three years and you finally show up again."
"You want to kill our daughter. I had to intervene."
"No! You sent her to kill me!" Melissa raises from her throne. "She pulled an arrow on me in the Crimson Lantern."
Carsin shakes his head in disappointment. "You cursed her entire home. I never once blamed you for anything that happened between us. We always worked it out, this time." Carsin takes a moment. "This time I don't want to live beside what you became." Carsin takes a step back from the throne and Melissa just watches in her silence. Unsure of how to respond.
"You won't get the old me back."
"I did it before." Carsin vanishes from the throne room and Melissa looks at the empty space of her throne room. No friends, allies, to assist her. She looks to her right hand to see the magical symbol imprinted on it. The symbol is familiar to what Melina saw in her dream.
The symbol lights up a bright white color and her eyes turn into a pure blinding light color as her vision sees Melina standing by Dayton's grave with Elisia beside her. The difference here is that Melina has metallic hands this time.
The vision fades and Melissa sighs. "Just had to lose my damn mind." She leaves her throne room behind. Distracted by Carsin's short appearance. The words "I don't want to live beside what you have become" play over and over in her mind.
