Melina steps up to her horse and hangs her bag around the saddle. Footsteps follow behind her and Melina lowers her head. "Let me leave.. please." She turns her head to see Elisia standing there with her swords in hand, blue magical aura emitting from the blades.
"I can't let you kill yourself. Come back inside." The look on Elisia's face emits a strong look of seriousness and worry for Melina, but words are not working and Elisia feels that fighting Melina must be the only way.
Melina looks down at the snow and sighs to herself. Thinking to herself. What does she do now? Go in and let The Dark Queen continue to reign? Or ride out and try and put a stop to it.
"You want to spend a week traveling to her fortress. You can easily spend half the time here and wind up at her doorsteps through magical means." Elisia steps closer and Melina looks at her packed horse. She looks to Elisia and looks into her eyes.
For a second, they share some kind of mind link. Melina's not backing down, neither is Elisia. Melina draws her sword and gets into her low guard stance. "Please, Elisia, I die either way, don't let me die a coward."
Elisia raises her swords into a guard positions as well. "You are not a coward, let me help you."
Melina recalls her dream with Elisia assisting her while she is injured from a fight against her mother. "No." Melina locks her eyes on Elisia and she steps forward and goes to swing downwards onto Elisia.
Elisia side steps the first swing and then blocks away the second, the third and ducks the fourth as Melina goes for a decapitation swing. They stand at the guards again. After the fourth missed strike, Melina's eyes turn solid red and her face hardens.
"Melina?" Elisia lowers her swords and Melina grins at the opening. Taking the opportunity with her short sword, she lunges forward and pierces into Elisia's hip by a hair. Just enough to draw blood through the clothing.
Elisia steps back with her arms raised at Melina and a blue electric ball of energy forms at the tips of one the swords and flies out towards Melina. Exploding against Melina's chest and sending her to the ground with singe marks onto her clothes. Melina gets back up and holds her head, her eyes still read, she lets out a war cry that makes Elisia back up even more.
"What is happening to you?"
Melina's hand charges up with a bright ball of light and she extends her hand out at Elisia. A ray of light shoots out and swarms around Elisia. Burning her skin and armor, she screams in pain as she clutches her swords tightly from the pain, grinding her teeth together.
Elisia drops to her knees and the beam of light fades away. The red eyes fade back to blue and Melina notices Elisia left smoking on her knees in the snow. Her clothes burned terribly, the swords appear to be fine, but her skin is horribly burned along her arms and the pieces of her body that can be seen. Elisia sees Melina's eyes fade back to their normal blue and she collapses over onto her side.
Melina just looks at the horribly wounded Elisia and she drops her sword into the snow. "What? What did I just do?" Melina runs over and kneels beside Elisia. Placing a hand on Elisia's arm and another on her stomach.
Green light comes out of Melina's hands and radiates in a green wave over Elisia's body. The green magic pouring out of Melina's hands started to heal the flesh burns, but the bruises and some scarring were left behind and Elisia lies unconscious still.
"Holy hells i've screwed up big this time." Melina looks at her horse still waiting by and Melina goes back to her sword, picks it up, sheathes it and then mounts the horse.
She rides off, leaving Elisia to rest in the snow with her clothes singed and swords laying out for the taking.
Melina rides off any ways, but every step the horse took the more guilty Melina felt and after twenty or so steps, Melina pulls the horse around and returns to Elisia.
Taking her back inside and up to Melina's room. Melina lays Elisia down on her bed and places the two swords against the bed frame. "Forgive me in time."
Now Melina rides out this time, but this time she doesn't go towards the fortress, she heads towards Noriel, where everything seemingly began this journey.
