The stranger from before runs up to a wooden cabin and opens up the door against the harsh winds. "Hurry up, Lady!" The stranger yells through the winter storm.
Melina runs across the snow, her feet sinking deep within it. "Trying." She tells herself. She comes up to the steps and enters into the cabin and the stranger enters afterwards and shuts the door behind them. They both take a moment to relax, catch their breath and rest.
"How'd you know about this cabin?" Melina sits down on a red leather chair.
"Not that chair!" The stranger points her swords at Melina. Melina stands up quickly. "Sorry." She says and stays standing.
"No, i'm sorry." The stranger sheathes her swords and pulls down her hold to reveal more of her blue hair and a scar that comes down across her right eye. Melina notices the scar, but the stranger pulls her hair over it.
"I'm Elisia Tevinter." She holds out her hand for a hand shake and then pulls back quickly. "Shit... that was rude."
Melina shrugs. "I've grown use to it, but I still reach for things like they never left." Melina looks around the cabin. A fireplace with wood next to it and ready to light the fire when ready, couple fancy chairs surrounding it. A table with a bench on each side and two separate bedrooms.
"Who might you be, Lady?" Elisia takes a seat in one of the chairs next to the forbidden red one.
"Melina and stop calling me Lady, please." Melina sits down in front of the fireplace.
"Well, Melina. If you haven't figured it out, this was my home. Me and my parents." Elisia gets up and grabs some wood for the fireplace.
"It is nice. Reminds me of my own. When I had my parent." Melina looks down with disappointment. This whole situation with her family. She hates it. For some reason, that undying rage began to fade as she sat in front of the fireplace.
Elisia catches the single parent comment. "Care to elaborate on the single parent." Elisia places four logs in and holds her hand over the logs.
"My father died years ago during the age of Saren. I was only a month old. If that." Melina watches as Elisia's hands light up with flames and she lights the logs on fire. Pulling her hands away and her hands return to normal.
Elisia sits next to Melina on the ground. "That's rough. My father died a year ago, my mother died giving birth to me."
"Rough life." Melina watches the fire flicker and she begins to feel at peace in this situation.
"Why were you out there alone? What made you scream?" Elisia and Melina look to the roof as the snow began to pound against it before stopping. They look at the windows and see the snow trapping them inside.
Returning to the conversation, Melina sighs. "Got any alcohol here?" Elisia laughs. "Of course."
She gets up and walks over to a cabinet and opens it up. Looks at the four bottles laying inside. "We have the Peach of Parel, Crimson Blood my favorite -"
"I'll take the Crimson Blood." Melina recalls the drink she had before confronting her mother. The last time she actively used her hands.
Elisia pulls out the crimson liquid and gets two mugs. Elisia places them down in front of Melina and pours the drinks.
"You know, Melina. I got many questions about you to ask." Elisia holds up the Crimson Blood to Melina's mouth. Elisia helping Melina take a drink, but ends up drinking too much at once and coughs at her burning throat. The cough turns into laughter.
"Ask anything. You've earned it." Melina says while taking slow breaths to ease her throat. Elisia takes a drink from her own. "Okay, how'd you lose your hands?"
"My mother cut them off while she held me in her prison. Tortured me for.. i don't even know how long. What day is it? I've only been out a week."
Elisia takes a drink and then realizes Melina is serious. "Oh. What day do you think it is?"
"Well." Melina rubs her head with her arm. "I was captured in early Tavriel. I'm assuming late Fenrir."
Elisia chokes on her drink and Melina looks at her confused. "No. Not at all, too early. It's Oris 20th."
"What?" Melina grips her own mug with the sides of her arm and takes a drink. "Four months in there?" Another drink. "Holy hells."
Elisia pats Melina's back. "Your own mother tortured you for four months. Brutal." Elisia finishes her mug.
"Then on my way out she took the life of my boyfriend in front of me. Without my hands..." Melina's eyes started to water up, but explaining this again. Melina didn't feel the pain anymore.
"I couldn't heal him. I watched him die in my arms." Melina wipes her eyes. Elisia scoots closer to hug Melina. "I watched my father die too. He got the Frostbitten Disease. I had to kill him myself. I too couldn't heal someone I love."
Melina finishes the last bit of Crimson Blood she has. "I need more." Melina sets her mug down. Elisia pulls the mugs aside and grabs the bottle. "Lets finish this tonight, in remembrance of the ones we love." Elisia looks outside. "Not like we can leave."
Melina nods in agreement. "That bottle won't last." They laugh and take turns drinking, Elisia occasionally helping out with the bottle. They continue to share their stories of their loved ones.
Melina talks of Carsin and Melissa, but not by name. Then mentions Dayton briefly. Her grandpa's Keon and Leith. Keon has been missing for years now however.
Elisia talks of her father. A simple person living in the snow with his family was his big adventure.
By the time the bottle gave its last drop, Elisia had fallen asleep on top of Melina by the fireplace. Both passed out from the Crimson Blood.
