A/N: If you guys hadn't realised, thesse past two chapters are set in Alou's past, and they all lead up to why Alou is a dragon and not a girl like she used to be. I think there'll perhaps only be one more chapter in the past but idk. OH YEAH ! I think I might stick with the first person way of writing for the rest of the book, as it's easier and a lot of fun.

ALOUETTE'S POV:
Several years had passed, but one the day I had hoped to combine our families through the act of marriage, only to find my darling Nayla to have no objections, causing a happiness to stir deep within me
It was lucky that my father had come to accept Nayla and I's relationship, for I doubt I could have done it without him.
---
A song poured out my lips, joy beaming from my body as I admired the handy work of one of daddy's goldsmiths.
A golden ring that would fit fingers larger then my own; but this held no importance to me, as after all, the ring was not intended for myself.
Slipping the ring into my pocket, I continued to spend the day pampering myself, making myself look appealing as to match my joyous mood.
Applying my makeup, doing my hair, and slipping into a flattering picnic dress caused me to giggle in the most unexpected way.
I felt so very excited, such to the point where all signs of nervousness washed away.
For a time.
As I stood infront of the mirror, I investigated my outfit and body carefully.
I wore my moroon hair in a simple braid, that swepted over my petite shoulders and hang down my chest; reaching the length of my hips. My dress was a soft white, that stopped just above the knee; with plentiful amounts of cleavage showing higher up.
I smiled, giving my dress a twirl as I looked into my mismatched eyes. I had always found it funny how much of a middle child I was, I held both french and russian names, deriving from both of my parents backgrounds, and such a thing also applied to my eyes. Like my father, my left eye was a shade of silver - with the lightest specks of blue within, while like my mother, my right eye was a darker shade of navy.
All of a sudden, I began to feel overly self conscious, anxiety swept in like a cold breeze on a winters day.
But what if Nayla refused my proposal, what if she only thought of me as a temporary pass time ? What if - " You look beautiful "
I spun around, half expecting the voice to belong to Nayla, but instead I was comforted with the sight of my father. " Daddy.. " I said with a grin, rushing over to embrace my father with tears starting to build in my eyes.
He smiled, wrinkles spreading across the sides of his eyes, as he too started to tear up. " Now are you sure you want to go through with this ? I can still arrange a handsome man if you want to back out- "
I shook my head, a smile still curved onto my lips. " No Daddy, she's the only one I want. "
My fathers pale blue eyes only seemed to light up further, as his smile grew softer and he replied in a hushed voice. " Then do it with pride my sweet, sweet daughter. "
" I'm no longer afraid of telling others that you love another woman, I see now that I was weak to think what you felt was wrong. There is no man in this world that would be a better match for you then Nayla, and this old Pajari couldn't be more proud "
His words caused a flood of tears to droop down my face, and yet I was so, so happy to hear his words. " Thank you Daddy " I whispered into his chest, of which he responded with by resting his head on my own.
For a few moments we just stood there happily hugging each other and crying, although daddy did try and hide it. " But anyway, enough of us, and more to Nayla and you. " he said with a cough, clearing his throat as he added " Good luck my precious Alou "
I smiled as he left, turning back to the mirror as I fixed up my makeup.
This was it. I was ready.
***
We met down by the docks, the markets were going on, just like the first day we had met.
This nostalgia reassured me greatly, making me walk further with a skip in my step.
My eyes landed on a large figure sitting down by the beach, her blonde hair blowing ever so softly in the hot wind.
And just when I thought it couldn't get any larger, my grin grew further, just as my joy did. She was perfect then, and she was perfect now.
We sat eating a large selection of sandwhiches, laughing and gossiping with each other in the clearest of day. This day couldn't have gotten any better - or so I thought.
As I lent back, a weight pressed against my hip, reminding me in an instant of what I had intended to do.
I stood up, placing myself in Nayla's lap as she wrapped her strong arms around me. These were the arms I felt most safe in, the arms that belonged to the girl I wanted in my life, forever.
I felt ready, I looked ready, I was ready.
" Nayla I- "
I paused, swallowing a lump that formed in my throat.
Nayla smiled down at me, kissing my nose as she cupped my cheek tenderly. " What is it my love ? "
I stood up, crouching before the blonde with one knee out. I grabbed the box from my pocket, opening it to reveal the gold ring within. " Nayla, you are the woman of my dreams, the woman of my everything. And I know some may look down on us for sticking to who we are, but deciding to meet you later that night was the best choice I have ever made. "
I paused to look up, watching a both a smile and tears started to form on Nayla's face, but soon after she covered her face with her hands in her shock; but the smile I had seen previously made me want to keep going.
" Nayla, you know I would give up my life of riches for you, you know I'd risk my life to see you safe. Because I depend on you as I hope you depend on me, so both my father, my siblings, and most importantly, myself, would love if you would come by my side and become Mrs Nayla Pajari. "
In all of a sudden my breath was wiped clear of my lungs, as a weeping Nayla hugged me tight. I laughed joyfully, hugging her back as I heard her whisper timidly in my ear " I-I'd be honoured. "
