LEIA'S POV
It had been several weeks, heck, maybe months, since Alou had told me her story and her, mine. And since then I've tried ever so hard to bring up the curse, and how I am supposedly the only one left to save her. But alas, every time I tried to bring it up she avoided it every time. After a while I merely gave up on learning the answer, I knew deep down that I'd be told when Alouette was ready.
Whenever that would be.
I've also gained quite a lot of freedom over my time here, I can now leave the cave into the forest, but once I hit the 100 metre mark I can step no further. My body freezes stiff while I still have the desire to go further, but as soon as I want to go back, I can move once more.
More magic I am unfamiliar with, great.
On this particular day though, I felt the urge to try speaking to Alouette just one more time about the curse before I'd give up for good; then I'd be content in waiting for her to be ready.
I felt so impatient, it was almost like an impulse to speak about it.
Crossing my arms over my breasts, I turned my head side to side as I looked about the cave. The noon sun shown through the large crack in the roof, giving the hollow area a distinct glow.
" Alou ? " I called out, tapping my foot against the cold stone beneath.
" What is it dear ? " the dragon asked with a full mouth, stomping through the caves entrance in her full dragon form - a deer clenched in her jaw.
" I um.. " I paused, sucking in my breath. " I want to talk "
Alouette continued on walking through the cave, placing the carcass down near the center as she turned back to look at me.
" What is worrying you Leia ? "
" You've been avoiding this for a long time now Alou, but I need to know about the curse; more specifically my part in it. Just how can I help ? "
The dragon gave a small smile, sitting down as she never broke eye contact.
" I know you've wanted some information but... I needed to be sure "
" To be sure ? " I asked, confused at what the female ment.
" I needed to be sure that you were the one, so I set up restrictions and the like that only Nayla's descendent couldn't pass through. I wanted to be sure so I wasn't just putting some poor girl in danger without them being able to help, so for that I am sorry.. "
oh.
I nodded, letting her words sink in.
" That's alright " I said with a smile, uncrossing my arms as I let them hang limply at my sides. " So does that mean I really can help you ? "
The dragon nodded slowly, before adding calmly. " But the hardest part is actually getting rid of the curse. "
" What do I need to do ? "
" Well... " Alouette said nervously, " You may or may not have to help me kill the witch. The curse will unbind itself and I will continue my days as a mortal- continuing off from the age I was pre-curse - if both I and the blood of my once love fight together to kill her. "
I couldn't help but smile at that. Here I was worrying that I'd have to loose a leg or something, but little did I know, all I had to do was kill a witch.
ah.
I had not thought that through, any witch that can not only apply curses, give magic to another - I imagine it was an accident - and control sirens - I pressume - is one witch that sounds boss as hell.
And not in a good way.
" I know it sounds bad Leia, but it is honestly the best news I have about this all. Becuase the witch thought Nayla would never have children, so I'd be cursed forever, but hah ! That old sea bitch was wrong ! "
The dark dragon gave out a loud laugh, her deep voice rumbling like a growl.
I paused for a moment, looking down at my feet in thought. Was I really going to go through with this ? Was I really going to get myself stuck in this mess ?
Although, technically, I was apart of this since birth.
Oh what the hell, I didn't have anything to lose anyway. " I'll help you, " I said confidentially, recieving a shocked expression from the dark dragon.
" What ? " She said, her fang filled mouth gaping open. " You-you will ? "
I giggled, nodding once more. " I will help, this is my business just as much as it is yours, so I will help where ever I can. "
Even in her dragon form I could see the glint of tears fallling down Alouette's face. She stood up, walking over on all fours as she walked closer, stopping as she sat infront of me and extended her long arms to me in a hug.
My smile grew as I stepped forward, feeling one large taloned hand grab me gently around the waist as I was hoisted against Alou's warm chest.
I knew in this moment that I had really found my family,
And I sure as hell was going to fight for her.
