Kakashi POV
I sat quietly at the side of her hospital bed, holding her hand as I recalled yesterday's events. She...believed me....and, she didn't hate me..... knowing that made me more happy than she could ever have known...
I sighed softly and I looked down upon her peaceful, beautiful face. I smiled under my mask and I gently rested my forehead on her hand.
"Kakashi...?" she asked in a soft, tired voice.
My head snapped up to look at her and I nodded my head slightly in response.
She smiled sweetly at me.
"How long was I out?"
"Almost twenty-four hours..." I answered.
"Are you feeling alright?" I asked, concern showing in my voice.
She nodded slightly and looked down at our intertwined fingers, then back up at me, without much change in her expression. I let go of her hand and blushed a bit.
"Have you been beside me this whole time?" she asked curiously.
I nodded but suddenly I felt a bit embarrassed.
"Sorry....I can go if-"
"No..." she cut me off calmly.
"You don't have to go....I like having you around." She admitted sweetly with a closed eye smile.
"Alright...I'll stay then..." I offered and she nodded.
"Please do"

Claire POV
"The nurse said you can leave after she's done filling out the papers" Kakashi explained.
I nodded.
"Would you like to go out to diner after? My treat..." he offered.
"Sure" I answered, using his shoulder for support as I got up from the hospital bed.
"I would love to."

We headed to a nice but simple restaurant, and Kakashi lead me in, sitting down across from me.
"Are you sure about this? I could pay for myself, you don't need to-"
"But I want to..." he argued childishly, making me chuckle.
"Fine then, if you insist..." I gave in, poking his cheek playfully.
"Ready to order?" a young woman asked, making her way over to our table.
"Hmm... I'll have rice balls and curry." Kakashi answered.
"And you?" the woman asked, looking over at me.
"I'll have sushi" I answered before the woman nodded and left.
We had the food brought to us not long after and we ate together, Kakashi making some random jokes and me laughing at each one of them, even those that weren't that funny, just to make him happy was enough to make me happy.

"We should do this again sometime..." Kakashi offered, after kissing my hand as an attempt at romance.
I raised an eyebrow at him but I failed to hold back my smile.
"Alright see, ya." I replied, turning to leave.
"Wait..." he called out as he caught up to me.
"I forgot to say something..." he started.
"What?" I asked, clueless.
"Thank you".
