Recap:
"Claire Senju..." he starts softly. I watch him, waiting for him to continue.
"You and I have known each other for many years, though we've been separated for a big portion of them... Yet when you returned, I fell in love with you all over again... As if it as the first time. I am in love with you, Claire Senju. And I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Through thick and thin, through troubles, through age.. I want to grow old and die by your side. You're the best thing that's ever happened to me..."
At this point I have a teary eyed smile on my face. And then Kakashi gets down on one knee... and pulls a small velvet box out of his pocket.
"Will you, Claire Senju..." he opens the box revealing a shiny ruby ring.
"Marry me?"

Chapter 15: Someone To Call My Own
Claire POV
Tears begin streaming down my face, I drop down on my knees and I wrap my arms around a knelt Kakashi. "Yes..!" I answer, laughing and crying at the same time,
He hugs me back and holds me close. "I'm happy..."
"So am I." I say, making us both laugh.
"I love you..." we say at the same time, making us laugh even more and making the others laugh as well.
"THIS IS...SO YOUTHFUL AND BEAUTIFUL!!" Gai yells while crying a waterfall.
Kakashi smiles, slips the ring on my finger, and kisses my forehead.
Lord Third walks by and sighs. "Ah, young love..." he mumbles to himself. "Congratulations, I wish you both the utmost joy and prosperity!" he says with a smile.
"Thank you, Hiruzen-sama." Kakashi replies gratefully.
I nod and bow my head in thanks towards the Hokage.
He pats Kakashi's shoulder kindly and continues on with his stroll.
Gai wipes his tears and smiles brightly, showing his good guy pose. "Live a happy and youthful life, both of you!"
"Thanks, Gai." I reply.
Kakashi turns to look at me, still holding me in his arms and wipes away my tears. "Would you like to spend the evening in the meadow with me?" he asks softly.
I nod and smile.

After spending some time with our friends, Kakashi and I head out to the meadow. Hand in hand we walk, watching the sunset that illuminates the evening sky. And after a bit, Kakashi lowers his gaze.
"What is it?" I ask in concern.
He shrugs.
"Tell me..." I urge.
"It's just... you're the person I treasure the most, and if I were to loose you again... I don't think I could handle it..."
I give his hand and gentle squeeze as we sit underneath a large tree, and I wait for him to continue.
"Just at the thought....I'm afraid... I love you more than anything... You're my world now, Claire... And I'm afraid to loose you..." he says, lowering his head.
I pull him into my arms, feeling his tears on my shoulder as he hugs me back tightly.
"Shh...I won't disappear..." I reassure him softly.
"You say that... but it could still happen..." he mumbles.
"Hey, I'm here now... that's all that matters, right? I won't leave... Because you're the one I treasure most."
He nods slightly and tightens his grip.
"You know... it's alright to cry, Kakashi..."
He shakes his head. "I'm pathetic..." he mumbles.
"No... you're human. And crying is a sign of it... It's alright, you can cry in front of me. I'll be there to wipe your tears, just like you were there to wipe mine..."
He buries his head in my shoulder and lets out a few soft, muffled sobs. And I hold him close, stroking his hair.
"I love you..." I whisper, kissing his forehead.
"I love you too..." he replies softly.
And we spend the rest of the evening in the meadow. Cherishing every moment we spend together as if it's our last, because for all we know, it might be.

"So I hear the wood style using girl returned to Konoha..." my associate states.
"Indeed." I reply.
"What do you suggest we do, boss?"
"We find her, and cease her. She is a rarity, and a relative of Hashirama, the first Hokage after all. And the last non-genetically engineered wood style user. Her powers should prove to be useful... "
