I opened the patio doors and stepped into the backyard, I layed on the hammock and stared into space replaying all the events that happened last semester.
"Urgh", I groaned and threw my head back in frustration. Being a student of Crossfall high can be challenging and intense especially with Kendra Adams around to spoil your day.
I had a huge crush on Jonas Wilson ,a jock on the football team since the first day of sophomore year. He is what every gal would want in a hunk, killer smile, hot bod, blue eyes to make your legs turn to jelly. Just thinking of him makes my body tingle in excitement.
I squeaked excitedly, but a girl like me couldn't even compare to the kind of girl that he would call his girl or stand to his popularity. Just picture me, a red-haired brunette ,brown eyes hidden behind concave glasses, in short,
'I'm a nerd'.We wouldn't fit together, being in my little book and made drawings of Jonas making sure I'm careful that no one saw it or had any knowledge of its existence so I won't die of embarrassment my only and best friend Anna thought I was crazy to do something stupid as that, I was convinced nothing would happen but somehow it fell out of my bag pack during the end of English period and just my luck as the only person who picked it was Kendra.
The most popular girl in school, the S.L.U.T, the blonde bombshell excuse of a cheerleader with her minions. Before the next day of school every one including Jonas knew about the book, my year did not end well with people giving me 'the look', whispering, mocking and laughing at me; maybe summer holidays can erase the gossip centering me and most definitely from Jonas's mind also.
Currently I'm on a tour in one of the most remote temples in Cambodia listening to the tour guide as he goes on and on about how fascinating this almost 400 year old temple is, I mean its completely useless anyway. What's the use of Google and other Internet services if we can't just stay home and do the research anyway.
"Tova",
"Huh", I snapped out of my imagination.
"Where were you and I mean your mind that is ? I hope it's not some fantasy about that 'Waller' boy", my elder sister Dora asked sarcastically."Its Wilson not Waller, Dora" I replied. "And besides you forced me to come out here to forget him and the whole drama, isn't that why ? ".
"I just want you to feel comfortable and the point of this trip was not because of your drama but to bond together, you know we haven't been out together for sometime now", she stated.
"I'm sorry I'm ruining our bonding time", I apologized
"I think I left my handkerchief at the base of the temple let me go get it" I said to her."Oh just forget it;it doesn't matter anyway it's just a kerchief" she said.
"Mom gave me that handkerchief on her death bed, I'll be back", I said while running off.
Just looking at this temple gives me the creeps, I spotted the kerchief laying on the ground as I went to pick it up, mistakenly I stepped on a stone which opened to a secret room that resembled an ancient prayer ground, you could still see carvings on the wall, as well as dusty old candle stands and an idol. Slowly as I stepped into the room I could see the whole room in a state of disarray, and amongst the rubble you could see a dried up skeleton laying on the floor with a finger pointing forward to the temple, as I looked up I saw a beautiful bracelet laying on a mount in the centre of the room. Instinctively, I bent to pick it up,
"Hmm nice",
I picked it up, took my kerchief and exited the room to go meet the others.
"Did you find it", Dora enquired.
"Yeah I did", I made no mention about the bracelet and the event that just occurred and continued the tour with the others.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
