Two Sides Of Tova.

Seventeen

     Beep.. Beep.. Beep

This  disturbing noise that kept ringing right next to me. My eyelids fluttered as I tried to open my eyes, squinting at the bright white light blinding me.

'Am I in heaven?'  I thought.

'Oh it's just the hospital'.

'Wait what am I doing here?!'.

  I opened my eyes more clearly to see myself in a hospital gown in the emergency room. I sat up and looked to my side to see Dora laying uncomfortably in the chair. I giggled lightly and remembered how I was feeling before I got to the hospital.

  I glanced up to see Ara-ñat standing right in front of me. As soon as she saw me awake, she rushed to my side and held me in a bone crushing hug. I smiled and patted her back to show that I'm alright.

"What happened to me?". I asked her as she released me.

But instead she looked away from me without meeting my gaze. I heard Dora whimpering lightly and our gazed turned to meet her. As soon as she was awake she rushed and held me tightly in her arms.

"Umm Dora, I can't breathe". I said to her through her shirt.

She released me and tapped the back of my head lightly.

"Ow what was that for?!". I looked up to see her face clearly. She had dark circles and bags under her eyes showing that she had been crying and not been sleeping well.

"That's for the second time that you're doing this, do you want me to have a heartattack?!" Dora raged at me.

I put her flailing hand down to calm her,
"Dora I'm fine and I'm not going anywhere". I said to her and she put her arms around me and squeezed me for a hug.

"Oh and Jack has been here everyday just to see how you're doing, he went to school that's why he isn't here. He's such a charming boy maybe you can make cute babies together ". She valley girled jokingly making me dive my head in embarrassment.

  Jack had been here to see me, he actually came and deep down I was glad that he cared for me.

"Don't worry he stayed by your side through it all he was even reluctant to leave if it wasn't for school he would still be here by your side". Dora stated looking at me with a smug expression.

"Umm how long have I been unconscious and in the hospital Dora?". I asked carefully.

She bit her lower lip and gave me a look before she answered me,
"Three days".

"WHAT!!! I've been comatose fot three days, well that's a record". I fantasized.

"Really Tova?!, I've been watching you for sometime now I've got to go to work now, I'll get the nurses to bring you some food okay". She said adoringly before placing a peck on my forehead. "Bye and stay alive". She warned then left.

After sometime due to boredom I got permission from the doctor to walk around the hospital premises. I thought back to school and all the school work I had to catch up when I go back.

I saw a familiar face barelling towards me before she hugged me tightly crushing me in her little hands.

"I miss you so very much, just got back and didn't see you when I asked Dora how you were, she told me that you were here. Are you okay?". Anna aka my bff rushed me with a worried expression on her face.

"Anna I'm okay there's no need to worry about me that much". I consoled trying to appease her.

"Okay?! Have you gone mad!! You are not okay otherwise why would you be in a hospital". She made a good point. "This is what happens when I'm not around to control you".

"I missed you too. You were gone for too long".

"I know we had to stay a bit more for some family stuff but I'm back now towards the middle of school year with plenty of notes to catch up on". She reminisces.

  We just talked to each other about different things laughing and catching up with one another. We walked back to my room after sometime of walking around aimlessly, and feeding on snacks from the vending machine nearby. As we entered I saw a familiar figure, although his back was turned facing away from us I could recognize that it was Jack in the room with us.

Anna cleared her throat drawing him out of his self-induced trance. As soon as he saw me he took few strides across the room before pulling me into his arms.

Of all the hugs that I've recieved this day, his is worth it all. I breathe in his masculine scent deeply as he held me tighter in his embrace. After sometime we heard an awkward strangled cough behind us and only then did I realize that Anna was still in the room with us.

He released me and bombarded me with questions immediately.
"Are you okay? Do you feel any hurt somewhere? Why are you even out of bed so early?". He raved concernedly.

"Jack I'm fine and not dead. My bones felt stiff and I decided to take a walk and besides I was bored. Thanks for coming to see me, Dora told me what you did". I blushed.

He smiled at me,
"I would have done anything for you just to be clear".

"Ahem do you guys need me to cough one more time to alert you of my presence again?!". Anna input feeling pissed and out of the conversation.

"I'm sorry but this is ..my friend Jack, I've  told you of him, haven't I?". I gave her a look with which she returned with hers.

She gave Jack a wide smile before abruptly giving him a big hug. She proceeded to grabbing his hand and shaking him wildly,

"Oh  you're Jack, nice to meet you. I'm Anna, Tova's bestfriend, she's told me so much about you, I hope we can become close and great friends". She said to him as she left his hand.

  Jack looked shaken by her gesture but gave her one of his killer smile and replied.
"It's very nice to meet you too Anna and I hope we become great friends too".

  He looked at me with the same smile but only more clearer and with joy.
"I'm glad you're awake, I've  missed you in school, it's not been the same without you". He said adoringly causing butterflies to flutter in my lower abdomen.

Oh I'm smitten!
