Dead Wishes

Apologies pt.2

The day had gone by faster than Cameron could have expected. When she was walking out of the school Clarity had jumped on her back making them both fall to the ground. Clarity laughed while Cameron just tried to get up. Clarity asked a question on how she had got here but when they ended up in the parking lot Clarity knew she took the car. "Oh wow really Cameron you took mom's other car. You know if she finds out she's going to kill you. You aren't even suppose to be driving at all." Clarity rambled on about Cameron driving the car until she asked if she wanted to drive the car. Clarity took the keys and they both started to drive home.     "Hey Cameron did you talk with Kyle?"                                                           "Yes I did and he gave me my camera back. I'm not so sure it works because well the camera fell into the water and it could be broken still. Where you apart of this?"                                    "Yes I was and i'm sorry that I didn't tell you. I was going to tell you this morning but I got a ride with mom to school because I didn't want to walk."                                                        "Well he scared me a bit because I didn't recognize him and some stranger just walked into the house but I just ignored him. So basically if they were an actual stranger I would have let them steal stuff but he knew you so I really didn't care."
Finally getting home they beat their mom by 10 minutes. Cameron ran up stairs and Clarity followed. Clarity walked to her room and ran back to Cameron's room.
"We need to talk now." Clarity said with a smile.
"You try to sound serious but you're smiling you weirdo."
"What is wrong? Yesterday you didn't seem as good. Cameron come on tell me."
"I'm sorry but I don't want to talk about it alright."
"Cameron just tell me please."
Cameron spaced off for a bit back to school.
"Hey Cameron look can we talk?" Mara asked.
"I don't want to talk right now but look it's not your fault." Cameron said.
"I just wanted to say I'm sorry and that you can just tell me to leave. Cameron tell me please. Just tell me to leave or that It was my fault."
"M-Mara just stop. I'll still take the lessons but it's not your fault okay it's mine for being scared. So just stop!"
Mara looked at Cameron and gave her a hug. Cameron just frozen and tapped Mara on the back slowly.
" Okay you can stop now"
Mara let go and turned around before Cameron grabbed her bag. She stopped then Cameron told her she'll see her afterschool for the lesson and try not to be a scardy cat. She let her bag go then took off to class.
"Cameron!" Clarity yelled.
"Oh sorry." Cameron said than finally remembered the swim lesson. She quickly grabbed her stuff and bag again and ran to the aquatic center. It took her 15 mins to get there and she caught Mara before she left.
"I'm so so sorry Mara I'm late."
"Uh it's okay. I was just heading home because I thought you just ditched me. So did you still want to do the lesson today?"
"Again I am sorry but it's up to you."
Mara just sighed and smiled. "Why not I don't plan on going home early today anyway." She laughed and they started walking back to the pool.
Mara changed first as Cameron waited then she quickly changed when she was done. Cameron looked at the water and hesitated to go in. Slowly she walked into the water and Mara held her arm. They were doing good and she slowly let go of Cameron's arm. Cameron stayed as calm as she could but the people in the pool weren't making it any easier.
"Okay stay right her. Now Cameron swim this way as best as you can."
Cameron took in a deep breath and looked at the 9 feet difference. She swam toward Mara until Cameron stopped to see she wasn't even close. She didn't swim far and just stopped. Mara swam up beside her.
"Hey it's okay you'll get better at it soon."

After a week

"See Cameron you improved a lot. Now let's try again one more time."
Mara swam off to a good distance of 10 feet this time. Cameron took in a deep breath and zoned out as much noise as possible. Finally when she was ready she swam toward Mara without stopping. When she reached Mara she was happy. She had swam without having much trouble.
"That's was really great Cameron. You really did improve a lot. Okay so now I wanna teach you something real quick. Do you wanna try to float on your back?"
Cameron looked at Mara but smiled because she wanted to try that. It seemed simple. "Sure why not." Mara swam toward Cameron and held her back while she floated.
"So the key here is to stay calm. Just stay calm and breath. When you panic that's when you'll just go into the water deeper. No worries though I'll be right here. Now I'm going to move my hands okay you got this."
Mara moved her hands from under Cameron as she stayed completely calm.
"Cam you're got over your fear!"
Cameron looked to see who it was but she sunk into the water but quickly resurfaced when someone grabbed her arm.
"Camer-" Mara said before she stopped.
"You stupid idiot. Why couldn't you just have said so and not yell!" Cameron yelled angrily looking at Kyle.
"Sorry again I'm just suprised you got over your fear. Also sorry that I'm the cause of that." Cameron just rolled her eyes and yanked her arm from Kyles hand. She swam toward Mara and asked, "Do you want to go or stay?"
"Let's leave." Mara said laughing. They both got out of the pool and walked to the locker room when a guy ran into Mara pushing her into the water.
"Watch it you stupid girl."
Kyle looked at Cameron then saw her push Everdean into the water harshly.
"You fu-" Cameron said before Mara grabbed her arm and they ran.
Everdean looked up to see no one insight of who pushed him. Kyles friends laughed but Everdean just looked at them. "Wow that girl had guts to do that huh?"
"Shut up Sabrina!" Everdean yelled. Kyle laughed but also was sad that Cameron left so quickly.
In the car Mara and Cameron were talking the entire drive home.
"Is it really 8 o'clock Mara?"
"Yes I guess it is."
Finally getting home they stopped.
" You are lucky you can drive a car. I'm not really allowed but I still drive my mom's car." Mara laughed at Cameron. "I can only drive sometimes but just can't get caught because I don't have a license obviously. " They both started laughing then she got out of the car closing the door saying goodbye to Mara. She drove off as Cameron just stood at the front door. When she walked in she expected her mom to yell at her but her sister was there. "So who's the guy? Do I know him? How long have you been going out? Can I meet him?" Clarity asked million of questions until Cameron yelled. " Oh wow Clarity just stop. That was just Mara. Plus I'm staying single so just stop!"
"One day it will be a guy. Trust me you won't be single because someone likes you!"
"Oh well I don't care." Cameron looked at Clarity then ran upstairs shutting the door. Clarity ran to her room then to Cameron's room. She threw her a paper and left without saying anything.  Cameron crumpled the paper into a ball making it into the trash can. Cameron laid down on her bed and just started to think.
Why did Kyle have to be at the pool. He's so stupid. Although I'm also happy that I am getting over my fear of water. Soon I won't need Mara's help anymore. I just have to focus a lot on swimming and school. Clarity wants me to be with someone but I only like one person. Just go to sleep now Cameron.

Kyles POV

"Come on Everdean you can't really be mad at Cameron for pushing you"
"Kyle look I hate her. She pushed me into a pool. Worst it was a girl that makes me look stupid."
"Just don't hurt her."
We walked for a while in the silence. Everdean waved goodbye but I kept walking. Everdean is such a jerk. But I'm still his ftiend. I hope he doesn't hurt Cam. I also haven't told him that I like her and not Nicole. He hates her already so it's best not to tell him. What do I do about Cam though?
