It took only a few more days after his encounter with the boy's mother that Reborn glimpsed his target for the first time.

With no other lead, the Sun Arcobaleno had taken it upon himself to stake out the middle school Dame-Tsuna was supposed to go to. Staying there, Reborn watched the same scene over and over again: Kids come to school around seven in the morning. At about seven thirty the school's perfect, a.k.a. the Demon of Namimori, came out to watch the 'Herbivores' as the perfect called everyone else but him. After the bell for class rang, the perfect would 'bite to death' those that were late. School went on with the perfect 'biting to death' those that went against the code of Namimori. Then school would end. And the cycle would begin the next day...

But every time Reborn saw the school perfect he grinned at the discovery. The Demon of Namimori, Hibari Kyoya, that kid would make the perfect Cloud Guardian for the soon-to-be Decimo Vongola.

But other than noticing some potential Guardians, there was no sign of Sawada Tsunayoshi... And this irked Reborn to no end.

Then, after waiting for three days, Sawada Tsunayoshi finally showed up to school. The bell had rung five minutes before, and Hibari was 'biting to death' all of the late comers to school, when a bushy, spiky brown hair and orange-brown eyed teen rushed unto the school ground, tripping every other step. There was no doubt in Reborn's mind that this was Sawada Tsunayoshi.

The clumsy teen tripped once more right before Hibari's feet. Reborn watched with baited excitement as Dame-Tsuna started to get up, no doubt about to get a beating from the perfect as that would help Reborn... analysis what the he would need to bea... teach his new sla... student.

So, Reborn watched as Dame-Tsuna got up. He watched as Dame-Tsuna clammed up upon seeing the Demon Perfect. He watched as said Demon Perfect reached out towards Dame-Tsuna and... gave the brunette a pat on the head?

"You're late, Small Animal," Hibari Kyoya, the Demon Perfect, stated almost fondly?

Dame-Tsuna let out a nervous laugh as he scratched his cheek. "Sorry Kyoya," spoke the brunette quite softly, shocking Reborn at the use of the perfect's first name. "I ran into an old friend on the way to school and we just got to talking."

"Hm~?" Hibari questioned, arching his eyebrow. "Small Animal, don't bother going to class. You will be helping me today."

Dame-Tsuna's eyes widened in shock and confusion. "Eh~ R-r-really."

"Hn!" And with that, Hibari threw Dame-Tsuna over his shoulders and strode off with said brunette not putting up much of a fuss...

In fact, Dame-Tsuna actually seemed to be comfortable laying over Hibari's shoulder and curled around them like a small cat.

The reports had said nothing about this relationship.

Reborn was really, really starting to wish he could kill Baka-Iemitsu and that idiot's team of so-called investigators.

Hibari Kyoya knew early on just what his path in life was.

At en early age, the boy was taught that the Hibari Clan was in charge of protecting, defending, and policing their territory known as Namimori.

He was there to insure the safety of Namimori and its people, his people. And if to insure that safety he must beat the senseless Herbivores and show them their place, then he will be the Carnivore that protects his territory and his people.

That was his duty.

That was his reason for living.

And it helped to cool his ever growing bloodlust, he was a Hibari after all and Hibari's were always bloodthirsty.
