Loki's chains rattled as he was escorted by the guards to Odin's throne room. He still couldn't believe he was defeated in taking over Midgard. He was sure it would work. They made it as Frigga stepped forward.
"Loki," she said.
"Hello Mother. Have I made you proud?" Loki asked.
"Please, don't make this worse," she begged.
"Define worse," he challenged.
"Enough! I will speak to the prisoner alone," Odin said.
Frigga obeyed and Loki stepped forward then laughed lightly.
"I really don't see what all the fuss is about," Loki replied.
"Do you not truly feel the gravity of your crimes? Wherever you go there is war, ruin, and death," Odin remarked.
"I went down to Midgard to rule the people of Earth as a benevolent God. Just like you," Loki stated.
"We are not Gods. We are born, we live, we die. Just as humans do," Odin said.
"Give or take 5,000 years," Loki pointed out.
"All this because Loki desired...a throne," Odin replied.
"It is my birthright!" Loki snapped.
"Your birthright...was to die! As a child. Cast out onto a frozen rock. If I had not taken you in, you would not be here now to hate me," Odin responded.
"If I'm for the axe, then for Mercy's sake, just swing it. It's not that I don't love our little talks; it's just...I don't love them," Loki remarked.
"Frigga is the only reason you're still alive, and you'll never see her again. You'll spend the rest of your days in the dungeon. And you will have a personal guard...from Midgard," Odin decided.
"You send a worthless mortal to make sure that I, a god, remain in shackles. This will be fun," Loki smirked dangerously.
"You are not to harm her in any way," Odin commanded.
"And it is a woman. She must be either brave or a fool to want to guard me," Loki remarked.
"As you were in your actions on Midgard," Odin pointed out.
"And what of Thor? You'll make that witless oaf King while I rot in chains with a mortal to keep me restrained?" Loki asked.
"Thor must strive to undo the damage you have done. He'll bring order to the nine realms and then, yes, he will be King," Odin answered.
Then the guards took Loki to his cell.
