Thor: The Dark World (Loki X Jamie)

Chapter 36: A Tunnel Back to Earth

Thor, Jane, and Jamie left Loki behind (despite Jamie's protests) and walked across the dark plains through a huge sand storm until they entered a cave.

Jamie was a complete wreck. She was in so much pain that it felt like she couldn't feel anything anymore. All she wanted was Loki holding her in his arms, telling her that he loved her and kissing her. She finally found the one who made her feel complete and now, he was gone.

"He's gonna unleash it. Not just on Asgard or on a star. Malekith is going to destroy everything," Jane said, making Jamie stop her thoughts.

"How? Jane, how?" Thor asked.

"I saw him on Earth," Jamie replied blankly.

"I did too. Why would he go to Earth?" Jane wondered.

"The Convergence," Thor realized.

"Oh my god. None of this would have happened if I hadn't found the Aether," Jane said.

"Then Malekith would've only possessed it that much sooner," Thor pointed out.

"I only found it because I was looking for you," Jane replied.

"Jane--" Thor started.

"But that wouldn't have stopped him. He knew that part of it was in me when it left its hiding place and went to me. He used me as his back up plan and he would've come after me eventually," Jamie said.

"If we hadn't brought you to Asgard, he would have sooner. And you have clearly shown you can handle yourself in battle, so Malekith would not have been able to retrieve it as easily as he thinks," Thor told her.

Jamie showed a hint of a smile and Thor gave her a brotherly hug, which she returned.

"But we're still trapped here," Jane pointed out.

Next thing they knew, a ringtone started playing. All three of them looked at each other extremely puzzled.

"It's...Not me," Thor replied.

"Not me either," Jamie added.

Jane took out her phone, knowing it was her.

"Hello?" Jane answered.

"Hi Jane, it's Richard," Richard said.

"Richard! Where are you?" she wondered.

"I'm still in the office. It's been a crazy day here today," he informed.

Jane walked further into the cave, holding her phone up to see where she was getting a signal. Jamie and Thor looked at each other in total confusion.

"My god this is amazing!" Jane commented.

"Is it? I quite enjoyed our lunch despite never actually ordering anything," Richard pointed out.

"How am I getting service here?" Jane wondered as she kept going.

"Is this a bad time? Do you want me to try later?" Richard asked.

"No no no! Whatever you do, do not hang up the phone," Jane told him.

"Okay then. I was just wondering if you wanna try again? Ah, maybe dinner next time?" he wondered.

"Ah yeah yeah, just stay on the phone, okay?" she requested.

"Yeah, I will," Richard agreed.

That's when she noticed the empty soda can she threw down the stairwell that vanished.

"Oh my god," she realized.

Then she saw and picked up Darcy's car keys.

"Am I interrupting something?" Richard wondered.

"No no no, nothing at all," Jane answered then whispered to Jamie and Thor, "Come on!"

"Do you know what she's doing?" Thor asked.

"Back in college, I was the crazy one. So nope, not a clue," Jamie answered.

"I'm losing you there, are you in a tunnel?" Richard asked.

"Wait, where are we going?" Thor called.

"Hello?" Richard said.

"Why are so many shoes in here?" Thor wondered.

They soon disappeared then ended up back in London.

That's when Richard lost the connection.

"I'll just text her," he told himself.

Jamie, Jane, and Thor left the building where Jane first found the Aether and got to the now graffiti-decorated and window-smashed car. Jane got in the driver's seat, Jamie got in the back behind her, and Thor squeezed himself in the passenger seat.

"So, who's Richard?" he wondered.

"Really?" Jane questioned as they drove off.

Jamie showed a hint of a smile at the awkward moment until she thought about Loki again. Her heart was still shattered from his death. She didn't know what to do now that she knew she was immortal and couldn't share her life with someone who practically was too. Tears formed again as she remembered their confessions and first kiss.

Thor noticed this, reached over, and placed a comforting hand on hers. She looked to see him smile at her reassuringly, which she returned it and mouthed "Thank you" and he nodded in response.

A/N Holy crap. How many heart breaking scenes can I come up with? Seriously. But at least they found a way back to Earth.
